    I lowered my 18 Suburban Premier with Belltech 1019 kit, 2" in the front and 3" in the rear. I also installed Hellwig front and rear swaybars, they make a difference but it is still a 19' long, 6000lb truck with a solid rear axel.

    Cast iron is also cheaper to manufacture and easier to cast compared to AL.

    I did mine few years ago with the Belltech 1019 kit and I don't remember seeing aluminum ones back then. Maybe someone makes them but I have not seen any.

    Ouch, that stinks. Do you have road hazard warranty on the tires? I thought that Illinois had bad roads, California must have craters not pot holes.

    I fund the break in the wire. It was right above the rear most cross member where the harnes splits into two legs, one leg goes to the SCM. The vibration against the cross member wore through the cloth wrap tape and the wire, 5V signal to the front leveling sensor. I still need to do the MRC...

    Probed it all the way to the fire wall. Its broken soemwehere between the firewall and the cross memeber above the spare tire.

    It's the thermostat, they fail. I replaced the thermostat in November, 24 and in December, 25 the same symptom as you describe. Replaced it again. Mind you this was AC Delco gold thermostat, got 13 months and 16k miles out of it.
