if you have a grinding from the front end/bad hub..change it now!
IIRC, when I installed my spindles, I used a BFH with the axle nut still on, but loosened so that it creates a "flat surface" for me to hammer on. I had already removed the inner axles 6 bolts.- DTS

Way bigger. IIRC, it's a 36mm socket. I had my right side go around 85k. Right after a McGaughy spindle install, so I thought I did something wrong. It made intermittent squeaking noise, I jacked the truck up, got no movement from the wheel and couldn't duplicate it. A day later we were...- DTS

Thinking bout buying a Z71 Hoe from up North - Need Advice!
I have a 2003 Z71 that (I'm assuming) has lived it's entire life in WI and IL. The only rust problem I've had was the rear bumper. And I've seen a high percentage of NBS Z71's with the same problem (just saw one today). The painted bumper just gets eaten from the inside out. I have not seen...- DTS

Yes the steps are different, they are black nerf bars. They also have the gray lower plastic valances (assuming to prevent rock damage to the body panels). The rear end is also a G80 locker, but if you're talking just appearance, then redemn93 pretty much nailed it. -

FWIW, I went Bilstein HD on all 4's on my Z. I have the McG's 2/3 w/helper bags in the rear and it rides pretty good. Only the harshest bumps get ya.- DTS
