Murphy’s law! The lol bigger still hasn’t turned up. Thanks for the link. I’m wondering if the round style is a suitable replacement. It’s a little different that the one I lost, but most others don’t have the pass through for the 10mm bolt. I have the plastic floors still. I peeled it back...

    Rust speckling on paint

Glad to hear it can be dealt with. I was wondering if a clay bar treatment would do the trick. What’s you preferred order of operations as far as wash>clay>chem>rewash>wax? Thanks for the advice! Yeah I’m going to give this thing a bullet proof coating of wax from top to toe.

Nope. That’s why I’m still amazed. It’s like it vanished into thin air. It’s huge and impossible to miss like the one below, but mine has the screw that passes through.

Sooo... decided to do a little moonlight repair. Shoulda known better! Just wanted to replace the brake lamp switch to get cruise control back. Innocent enough right? Wrong! Somehow I sprung the friggn retainer clip to the darkest corner of the deepest pit in my dash or pedal area...

    Rust speckling on paint

Thanks for the info! I was thinking it had to be something like that. I’ll definitely keep up on it until spring time when I can properly address it myself. I think the remedy will Just be a whole lotta buffing and waxing the ever loving piss out of it. Awesome! I’ve never heard of this, but...

Okay, new problem, the engine is overheating

You can rent a cheap colormetric kit that tests for combustion byproduct in the coolant from most auto stores. Could be worth the 10 mins of diagnostics before you dump the blue devil in and can’t go back, lol.

    Rust speckling on paint

So, ‘09 SSV. Guaranteed to have the cheapest paint job available, lol. It’s white, and even on the plastic parts I’m some areas the paint has tiny bits of rust speckling. See the pics. It’s February, at least here in Michigan, so not much to be done about it now. Come spring, I’ll hit it with...

I’ll be honest. My big bro is the boost junkie, lol. I’ll probably run whatever he tells me as he’s far more knowledgeable than I. With my limited knowledge and vocabulary, I’m thinking single turbo setup under 15lbs. Nothing fancy, probably just a Chinese GT45. Going for the budget boost lol.

Been noticing what I think is a lifter tick on some cold starts. Not all the time. We had some -20F mornings and it was not present. I’m trying to correlate it to something. Like did it get to full OT last drive of the day before parking overnight, or was I doing a lot of highway driving where...

Hey there! I’m happy with the rims so far! Nothing special. The Bui is an 04 LeSabre custom.

Intermittent lifter tick on cold start

‘09 SSV. Has an occasional loud ticking on cold start. Usually goes away in a matter of seconds. Sounds like a collapsed lifter that is stubborn to get pumped back up. Purchased a Range AFM disabler today. I’m hoping if that lifter stays pumped up it won’t get worse. Anybody have good...

Nice to meet you Jmm! Nice score on the ‘18! Definitely interested in what you may have available. Specifically Looking for DIC buttons, and maybe a Range AFM delete. My goal is more longevity/reliability than go fast.... for now anyway!

Say goodbye to the old snowflakes, and hello to the new 17” stock hotness!!! here’s the old 17” snowflakes. Here are the “new” stock 17” rims with Cooper AT/3 4S. (Pics of them on after I get back from orielly. Grabbing a ball joint for the passenger side.)

Nice! I really like the KO2s and was wondering if they would be noisy. I can tolerate quite a bit, but the Mrs and the doggos won’t have it lol.

Good to know GM will do it for free. As far as tires, I don’t think I’m going true snow tire. Probably an A/T with decent snow performance. This might see some use in the transitional seasons too.

My bad! I goofed and misinterpreted the decoder on Chevrolet.com. It read MYC, M30. The comma separated the SSV and the PPV package. If there’s a better decoder out there let me know! The rims are 17’s. Not my favorite. No idea what they came from. Need rubber bad. Thinking Cooper Discoverer A/T3.
