2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

The factory 05 Tahoe caliper bolt and a stainless washer for centering the caliper over the rotor should be all that is needed. I didn’t feel that there was enough thread engagement after adding the washer so I got a little longer socket head cap screw.

Cadillac Ride on a 3/4 Ton Truck?

Surely a set of Firestone bags and compressor setup would be cheaper than the H1 set up?

Cadillac Ride on a 3/4 Ton Truck?

There is lower spring rate torsion bars. I’m not sure if the half ton torsion bars will fit a 3/4 ton chassis but they would probably be a lower spring rate. The Z71 bump stops for the front, GM Part no: 15835667, are said to be better than the non Z71 ones. The bump stops are also supposed to...

Cadillac Ride on a 3/4 Ton Truck?

I am not sure if you have looked around the Duramax diesel forums but there was a member that offered some UHMW pucks in a reverse taper. The piece that went in between the core support and body mount was 2 inches. Each body mount afterwards was shorter and shorter until the last at the lift...

Recalibrate for larger than stock wheels and tires

The current price for the MPVI3 is $399 and it takes the universal credits versus the GM, Ford or Dodge specialized credits. Also some of the third party resellers offer a small discount on purchasing the credits. One other thing to note is not every vehicle will take just two credits to...

2006 GMC Yukon rear brake caliper

Trimming needed on the splash shield. Centering of caliper over brake disc. Mounted up. Hope it helps and Happy Holidays to everyone here.

2006 GMC Yukon rear brake caliper

Bringing back from the ded because I do that. The bracket is still available although the company lacks in the communication department. A couple pictures of the bracket.

    Brakes squeel like crazy

At first I was under the impression that you were incorrect about ceramic pads being available. However after looking at rockauto power stop brand has several choices of ceramic options available that were not available at the beginning of the year.

2006 GMC Yukon rear brake caliper

To use those calipers you would need a bracket made up that adapts the caliper to the axle. You couldn’t use the CTS-V front rotors as they have no means to retain the parking brakes. My original idea was to use the CTS-V calipers because of price and then the BAER 14” rear rotors. But if...

2006 GMC Yukon rear brake caliper

But then again that bracket to use the Corvette rear calipers wants to use 14-18 rear rotors which are 13.6” versus 13.0” for my 2004. Which means the 14” Baers aren’t really that much bigger than those. Now I have to do some figuring for cost differences.

2006 GMC Yukon rear brake caliper

Except the calipers are twice as much as the 1st Gen CTS-V calipers. Plus the stock sized rear rotors inside 20s is puny looking.

2006 GMC Yukon rear brake caliper

I dove into the deep end and purchased the 2021 PPV 16” front brake setup. I wanted the Baer 14” rear setup with the CTS-V caliper to aesthetically match. I cannot tell from the pictures of the Cobalt SS calipers if the bolt goes through them into the knuckle or not. Like how your rear brakes...

2006 GMC Yukon rear brake caliper

@skyhighsami Are you referring to the Brembo caliper off of say a 2009 Cobalt SS? If so then it’s a fixed caliper and a bracket could be made. The only problem I can see would be the backing plate will need to be clearanced. 1) for the caliper and 2) because if the caliper doesn’t magically...

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

I did have to use a washer to space the caliper out a bit. I didn’t have the dust shield behind the hub bearing so it didn’t look perfectly centered. @THarber Could you send a link to where you got your rotors? I got the oems for cheap but love the slotted look more.

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

The OEM pads actually use the inner hole on the pad. When I had the dynamic pads in the caliper the pin wouldn’t have even been holding the pad. If that’s as clear as mud lol.

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

No I haven’t. I only test fit the calipers, rotors and some Texas edition 20” 5 star wheels on belltech drop spindles. They cleared perfectly. The wheels came from a 2018 Silverado. My rear axle was finished today so hopefully in a week and a half I can get it in and start on the front end...

Check posts 43-45. They have my pictures and some info. Post 45 has the comparison of the dynamic friction pads vs the oem PPV pads.

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

I tried reuploading the pic but I had the ones from RockAuto vs the oem ones. You can see the pin placement is in different spots.

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

I would check the pads you have versus the caliper. The Dynamic pads I got fit like they were supposed to be there; only problem was the pin placement. The best I can tell from pictures is the GM performance calipers have their pins more towards the center of the caliper. Oh and they are a two...

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

Yes as I couldn’t find anything that was listed specifically for the PPV. And nothing on the pads themselves crossed or had any automotive related results.

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

@THarber @MrRock I would check the brake pads for fitment on the calipers. I ordered the same Dynamic Friction from rock auto and the caliper pin holes didn't line up. If you look at my pics earlier in the thread the holes do not line up to where the retaining pins go in the calipers.

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

I purchased Russell branded brake lines for my 04 Tahoe, they have the factory styled “S” curve on the caliper end. Those actually fit and cleared the caliper body. Honestly I thought they were made for each other. Sadly it will be 2.5 weeks before I can get pics. Everything is still sitting...

    Torsion bar madness HELLLP *RESOLVED*

Ah ok assumedly you have the dorman brand replacement bushing assemblies. Your old ones will have 4 rivets holding it to the frame that will be easier to drill out and bolt the new ones on. I recommend going to a nut and bolt place and getting better bolts. I’ve heard of the replacement bolts...

    Torsion bar madness HELLLP *RESOLVED*

It’s weird on those torsion bar bracket bushings. My 04 Tahoe as well as 05 and 06 Dually’s have the big round bushings. However my 05 2500 Suburban has this dog bone looking mount that has a bolt through the frame and a bolt through the bracket. I haven’t looked at the 12 Yukon XL 2500 I have...
