    First suburban

Unfortunately it was done about 15 years ago. Best I can recall the shocks were Bilsteins, but can’t remember the keys. It lost a fraction of mpg but I thought it drove the same and looked better leveled.

    First suburban

Nice looking ‘03. On my 2002 Z71 Tahoe I did new keys and front shocks to level the front rather than shock spacers as I felt it provided the stronger option for off road use.

    Rims for sale?

I have the OEMs that I took off my 2009 Tahoe LTZ 6.2L when swapped to black 17s … but I think they’re only 20s, though 22s were an available option. Right bolt pattern but I’d have to double check the diameter.

The New V8 Engines are coming!

Slightly off topic but so many of these issues seem connected to the unnecessary separation between GM Trucks & GM SUVs. Even stupid stuff like lights & mirrors require differences for no real reason … and they don’t recognize it can impact long-term resale value due to...

The New V8 Engines are coming!

But there are two different methods to use hybrid power: 1) Plug-in hybrid engine provides small charge to large battery for electric motors to run off battery pack. Primary power is from plug-in batteries. Fuel-based motor & regenerative braking serve as a range extenders. 2) Independent hybrid...

Boost Power Folding Towing Mirror Installation/Review

Ok, you’re selling me on them again. I’m not worried about seeing my truck as long as I can see the motorcycle next to me.

The New V8 Engines are coming!

But my opinion is that they’re all doing hybrid wrong. A small diesel motor geared only to an alternator and running all the time with a normal battery supplying power to an electric drive system would provide more than enough power and not even need a regenerative braking system. The fuel...

Boost Power Folding Towing Mirror Installation/Review

So just finishing the thought… Your Trail Ridge mirrors are reported to be essentially OEM and the viewing angle on the Boost Auto mirrors show more truck / less side lane then what you had? Shoot… I was looking for the same thing then and I already think the angle isn’t great with the OEM.

Boost Power Folding Towing Mirror Installation/Review

Did you ever have OEM towing mirrors? The available viewing angle / field of vision isn’t great in them either, but I’d be interested to know how this & OEM compares. This is also on my want list for my 2500.

    [SOLVED] USB port issue?

My guess is that if it wasn’t a change in the iOS in general, it was a change in the Music app. I use an old iPhones that I leave in the trucks for stored music & books on tape (I swapped in a 2010 OEM Nav radio into my 2009 Tahoe). But mine still work fine as the iOS isn’t getting updated.

    Key Fobs?

Actually I’d recommend you look at BoostAuto aftermarket key fobs. https://boostautoparts.com/collections/retrofit-key-fobs?year=2010&make=Chevy&model=Suburban These are what I got for my 2010 Suburban to differentiate its keys from my 2009 Tahoe. Simple subjective opinion but I think the range...

[SOLVED] Battery dead needing a random jump

I’d take a close look at the bigger electrical connections (I.e. to & from engine, alternator, battery & starter; both + and -). Then I’d recommend the big 3 replacement with the added suggestion of military-style terminals for more flexibility in the future. As a side note: I also prefer a dual...

Why have more than one SUV?

For me: Tahoe is my Daily Driver. I currently have a 2009 LTZ 6.2L. It replaced my 2002 Tahoe Z71 as COVID started when the transmission went bad (and the 6.2L was calling). The Tahoes replaced my 1994 Nissan Pathfinder (which was a great little truck). Suburban 2500 is trailer tow & road trip...

New 2005 Yukon XL 2500 SLT 8.1 Owner - Colorado

Welcome! Good find on a great combination of year & engine. I was considering that also when I bought my 2010 Suburban 2500 and it was really an issue of what I bought was found before seeing a good 06/05.

What are ya’lls plans with engine/chassis when it’s quitting time?

2010 2500 Suburban: that’s what I hope I can do, or at least have done (and have someone coat the frame with something more rust practice while it’s opened up). The 2009 Tahoe 6.2L will get repaired too, but upgrades probably limited to transmission improvements.

    Turn Signal Malfunction

Sounds right. I think the Germans started that trend and stupid US engineers thought it was a good idea to make it harder for the average vehicle owner to even change their own light bulbs. One of the backwards steps that happened between the NBS / 800 & the NNBS / 900; and GM never looked...

Run charger cord to this location? 2015 Denali Yukon

Isn’t that small vent connected to the defroster venting? I think you’d be better off just snaking it down the crease between the door seal seam and the dash

    What a joke gmpartsgiant.com is

The other option for GM OEM is to go into the dealership parts department and tell them what you’re doing. Get to know the real parts guys from the desk attendants. I’ve had 5 older GM vehicles I’ve bought parts for from the same dealer for almost 20 years: * 6+ year old 02 Tahoe * 20+ year old...

2003 Tahoe floor and cargo liners

I don’t like the regular Weathertechs in my 2010 Suburban because they deform and don’t have an anchor, but the WeatherTech HPs in my Tahoe are holding much better, even without an anchor. I wouldn’t buy regular Weathertechs again.
