Rear axle swap
I found a video online that outlines the swap from the weak 8.6 10 bolt to a semifloating 14 bolt from a 88-98 heavy half, and had one found but the truck disappeared. So my question is this: has anyone tried to fit an axle from a 2011 half ton in place of the weak 8.6? It's going into a 2002...- w666ninja

2002 Yukon..Replacement rear axle compatibility
I have a 2002 yukon 4x4 with the 8.6 10 bolt. I've replaced the unit 3 times. I was recently told one vehicle source to consider a replacement from would be a silverado with the 6.2. It sounded strange but I happen to have a totalled 2011 silverado half ton with a 6.2 and the same gear ratio I...- w666ninja
