So after talking to the machine shop i can get the cylinders honed and heads shaved for 5-600 of course that’s if everything is within spec enough to just do a hone.
I think it will be.
With shaving the heads that’s going to increase my cr a little bit I was thinking of going with the tap -4 cc...
Prices on everything are fluctuating right now and will probably continue that way for some time.
That’s not a bad price.
It is right about what I paid for mine a few months ago. You won’t be disappointed with the luk. I do recommend getting the trans tuned but you don’t have to. The luk worked...
I’m wondering the same thing. I honestly don’t know how it didn’t damage the cylinder. It’s the lightest scratch marks. I can barely feel it with my nail.
Yes there is marks in the cylinder head that match the piston.
Cylinder 4 was the only one that was misfiring. But there was a massive...
Well so what I was hoping was a lifter problem turned out to be much worse.
I’m amazed that the cylinders are still in such good shape. All the marks on it I can’t even catch with my finger nail.
So I think the best plan of action is to just have the cylinders honed and a new set of pistons. I...
If you really want to keep the 6.2 you can rebuild it. Rods and crank are probably still good.
Would probably cost the same as a used 6.2 as they are sky high.
As for your air shocks I replaced mine with a kit from max speeding rods. I was Leary but at 269.00 for the whole kit shocks and...
Yea I don’t want any leftover junk in there and I could use the old bolts running them in and out but it was cheap and worth it.
Absolutely this isn’t my first time so I do know to clean out the holes but some ppl won’t know to do that so this is a great tip that will avoid costly mistakes...
I sure hope that is not the case with mine. I called btr questioning them on the lifters.
They told me they get them from the same supplier as the gm ones but the difference is there is no warranty with those. They said they would warranty case by case but only the failed one and it had to be...
Mine is a 2007 and does not have any afm.
I have not been home yet just listening to it over videos.
I ordered parts that I knew I would replace so I didn’t have to wait on them as my time at home is limited.
What I do know is it has a tapping knocking noise on cold startup that quiets down...
The 6 speed really is a huge improvement.
Makes having 3.42 gears not miserable.
But I will say the factory tuning is garbage.
Tuning mine made a big difference. A lot of factory tuning is not meant for performance.
I have had a truck and a Tahoe 99-06 4l60 3.73 gear 4wd.
Both were 5.3
The truck got pretty good fuel mileage and towed pretty decent. Highway rpms for both vehicles were about the same 2000 depending on speed.
The Tahoe towed decent as well but got horrible mpg best I ever got was 15 all...
That’s what it sounds like is going on.
I know the lifters can spin in the tray and skip across the cam or they can stick and the cam just smacks them all the time.
They can also get weak and be collapsed on start up which is what I think is going on in my case. Once they pump up then the noise...
So I just bought some parts.
Brain tooley racing Delphi ls7 lifters
Lifter trays
Ls3 5 layer head gaskets
New head bolts.
I will see how the cam and pushrods look once I have it torn apart. I’m hoping I don’t have to spend anymore money on it things are kinda tight right now but if I need a...
No im not home. But based on what I know im thinking real good chance its lifters.
Cold start tapping noise once engine warms up noise subsides to a faint lifter tick.
Code for cylinder 4 misfire.
Engine does have noticeable miss until warmed up then goes back to normal.
Oil pressure is...
Yea I have already done this. The driver side was the culprit it had a broken bolt.
I put a new manifold and gasket on and put the bracket on and that stopped the leak.
The sound it’s making in that video is much worse. I wish it was the gasket but unfortunately no
Now I never said she wouldn’t enjoy it I’m sure she would, but does she need it no. Lol
The goal with this is to be reliable for her. Honestly didn’t think I would be doing lifters on it so soon
lol yea I don’t think the wife needs that much horsepower.
I was on btr and they have a whole kit. Right about 500.
Ls7 lifters, lifter trays, head gaskets, and head bolts.
I think I’m gonna go ahead and order that.
I’ll try and get a video uploaded of the noise later this evening my signal...
2007 Yukon Denali awd 6.2
Well boys I thought I had the Yukon done maintenance wise then out of the blue cold morning start I get a nasty tap. Engine on on with a cylinder 4 misfire and feels like a dead miss.
Now I’m not at home to see it in person but to me this is sounding like a bad lifter...
