    I would try the trans fluid flush, but ultimately, new cam and lifters will likely be the only thing to truly fix the tick.

    If you like your truck, put a new cam and lifters in it and roll on. Your mileage is low...for that engine. The factory lifters are the problem and now your factory cam is likely worn.

    Yes, a little heavy on the solder, but at least the solder stayed where it should be. I was going to clean it up a bit, but I felt lucky the work-around went so smoothly. I thought it best to leave well enough alone. I can get a bit ridiculous if I let OCD take over. Yes, it works. HAHA...

    Transmission fluid flush/change at 160,000 miles

    Dirty fluid should make you nervous. A full transmission flush would likely result in an extremely shortened lifespan whereas if you just left the fluid alone and ran with it, you may get another 50-100k miles out of it. But definitely budget for the trans rebuild down the road either way...
