    Headlights flickering

I had a similar issue on an older Buick. I replaced teh battery, but no change. I had the alternator tested at Autozone and it checked out fine.... After another month I decided toreplace the alternator and never had another problem. Apparently the regulator flucuation was small enough that the...

Can anybody tell me what is causing this sound? No cel, increases with rpm

It doesn't sound like power steering....that would be more of a whineing sound. It sounds like (from the video) it is either the tensioner bearing or the bearing in the other belt roller.... Alternator generally makes more of a grinding sound. I'd take off the A/C belt and run the...

    2010 Yukon 6.2l Lifter help

Replacing the AFM Lifters is a fix, but only temporary in my opinon....the lifter problem often returns. I replaced the cam, lifters, oil pump, and all related gaskets with an AFM Delete kit. I bought the whole kit from AM Racing for $650 or there abouts. Many of the parts in the kit are OEM...

Joining the club: 2011 'burb LTZ, some questions

My son put the Husky Weatherbeaters in his new Ram, and I like them so well that I put them in my Escalade...I think they are great fitting and do the job they are supposed to. I have had Weathertech stuff before and was not nearly as happy as I am with the Husky set. I bought a fob and key off...

Want To Buy but Question About Mileage

AHHHHHHHH....we also have a 2006 Sienna limited that we bought used last February with 124,000. I replaced the struts, timing belt, water pump rear shocks, changed all the fluids and belts and hoses. I think it is the ugliest vehicle on the road, but I would not trade or sell it. It hauls more...

    AFM delete kit questions....

I received the AFM delete kit from AMS Racing yesterday. Everything looks pretty good. I also ordered a M295 Melling oil pump from Amazon (cheapest at $59). I intend to swap out the timing chain and gears but I won't know what parts to get until I tear it down, as there are different tensioners...

2011 Suburban - Right turn "pop/clunk" but not all the time

I would check the sway bar end links....they rust out and break off, allowing the sway bay to bang against the frame, but it won't happen all the time. It is a really simple fix. I replaced the end links and the sway bar bushings at 100,000 miles and it did help the handling noticeably....cost...

    Gruven heater core T-connectors

I replaced mine with Dorman units which seemed to be somewhat sturdier than the oem....I swapped them at 98,000, even though nothing was wrong with them....

Loud Engine Noise... Maybe Serious Issue?

I would suggest AFM lifter spring(s) partially collapsing. That’s what I found on mine.

Want To Buy but Question About Mileage

I've wanted an Escalade forever, but they all run well over 100-150,000 miles for what I can afford. I found an 07 that had an original sticker of $64,000 with 96,000 miles and bought it, but I know I paid too dammm much ($16,000). The vehicle is tight and smooth and quiet and nice. After two...

    AFM delete kit questions....

Yep, I will be doing all the work myself, with some help from my son. I expect to take two to three days start to finish, but it will probably go longer....it always does...hahaha thanks

    AFM delete kit questions....

You are, I think, correct....looks like mostly GM parts, Melling oil pump, and gaskets and bolts from ????? Just wanted to get a few opinions before I took the plunge...thanks

front left wheel clicks when turned

If it is on the left side on a right turn, it is most probably the axle CV joint. On a right turn it throws all the weight/force on the left side axle....oh, wait, I just noticed it is a 2wd...guh Most probably the bearing for the same reason....all the weight on the left front.

    AFM delete kit questions....

I have an '07 Yukon with the second in a series of AFM lifter issues....dammmit. Anyway, I have decided this time I'll remove all of the AFM stuff and go with a new cam and lifter setup. I am looking at the following kit from AMS Racing...

    Changing front differential fluid

Nice video...thanks. One suggestion. When I did mine, I got a 4 foot long piece of clear plastic hose, put one end into the fill hole and stood outside of the vehicle next to the front tire and poured fluid into the differential thru a funnel attached to the other end of the hose....lots...
