I went back and removed the 4 codes from the list. Flashing the pcm obviously all the diagnosis went back to missing but they went green except for the evap now and the permanent codes are still there. So got tonkeep driving. Might need about 100 more miles and and a few more start ups to clear...
Yeah, they are all cleared now even the evap, but i have the permanent codes from the cylinders that used to be used for the AFM/DOD.
So i was thinking of removing the ls2 valley cover i plaved and reinstall the AFM VLOM to hopefully trick the computer its still plugged in to AFM.
Thanks
I removed the pre cat extender and all diagnostics are ckeared and ready to go!
I did a DOD delete on this trck and swore i erased the vlom codes through hp tuners but they show up as permanent codes. My smog gu said keep driving it but im tempted to put the old vlom back in so its...
good morning, ladies and gents.
I am having an issue and I was hoping to get some wonderful feedback from you.
After I rebuilt my engine, I am having an issue with my cat on bank one. Can’t clear the code. I swapped out the O2 sensors for a brand new OEM‘s problem still consisted..
So before I...
Have you considered just doing a poly bushing swap and new torsion keys. Not sure if you are a DIY'er like me but I did that it lifted my ride considerably. Rides nicer with some Bilstien 5100's too
Those would be the tie rods. but we found the issue. The Chassis Support bracket, the big metal brace under the oil pan was not torqued down and was causing this.
The valley cover looks like an LS2 cover. Is that a 6.0?
When I did the DOD delete I noticed the LS2 cover is shorter and thinner so a screen wont fit in there. The VLOM is thicker and taller to give the screen space
the tie rod? Thanks I will double check it.
A Mechanic in the family said there was a TSB about broken sway bar mounts but that was a GMT900 problem not a GMT800 issue.
My other concern was I tighten the shocks so the bushing compressed but I guess there is a torque setting for these. I will...
I second @tirekicker
Check the hubs as well. I changed a wheel bearing for a friend his car had a high pitched whine and the dealer wanted to change his clutch fan and radiator go figure.
Yeah the noise became a bigger issue after the engine rebuild so i replaced this 21 your rubber bushings. They were all toast anyways. But after everything new including the bearing its still making the noise. But only in drive and low speeds and turns.
Not during park.
Hey guys
So I just rebuilt the suspension on this 04 tahoe with polyurethane bushings all around new tire rods, new ss brake lines and a new brake job
But there seems to be this creaking noise when we turn the steering wheel and it only happens when the truck is in drive and with your foot on...
been there Man, i'm in California as well I rebuilt my engine as well eliminated DOD but kept VVT. if you have any questions let me know. my smog is due in a month so we will see if it will pass.
The oil pressure was decent I think when I turned it on. one of the lifters chewed up the camshaft and the rest is history. I will clean that pump up and have ready for the reinstall., thanks
hey gentlemen
Got a quick question. I’m rebuilding an LM7. My customer is on a budget and we not replacing oil pump. But i was wondering i have a left over oem oil pump from my 6.2 Denali rebuild.
So... is it possible as long as I change the spring to reuse this oil pump on this lm7 build? Or...
used is probably cheaper but with this year engine luck it might be in the same shape. I prefer to rebuild to know what you put in it. so it really depends on your budget and time. I rebuild these engines but I take my time and for some customers time with out their car is valuable so used or...
Hey man,
I would advise to not drive that truck in that conditionthat. I just rebuilt the entire engine on mine for the same reason, my noise was noticible when we traveled to Mexico and finally gave out upon our return to Southern California. So all my bearings, including the camshaft bearings...
Almost there went with an improved billet front torque converter and I think I might have saved the trans. This oil looking like a cherry dr. Pepper. It was dark with a tinge of red. But its almost good. No the onky thing that is needed is to unstuck the trans dip stick. It got wedged in the...
Yeah saw the video and ibguess i did it right lol.
The lifter is the standard ls7
The tool is 6.8
The per load is .05 right
And the tool was 10.5 turns.
So 6.8
+ 5.25
+. .05 preload
= 7.375
