Can anyone tell me what this clamp is intended to hold?

Can anyone tell me the purpose of this clamp and what it is intended to hold? Feel free to weight in on how important the clamp is too. The 3 pictures of my 2002 Yukon. The pictures were taken from the passenger side of the vehicle looking to the rear of the vehicle. For clarity so you are no...

This weekend I changed my brake fluid after too many year. 02 Yukon and decided to keep the truck long-term (until she finally dies. Not sure what "finally dies" means). Prior, surfed YouTube and checked out a few posts here to learn how to do. Done and easy. Changing a bunch a fluids as she...

    Thunk from Gas Tank

I have a 2002 GMC Yukon w/ 5.3 engine. I have been noticing a ping, a thunk... OK, no real way to explain the sound but it's highly likely coming from the gas tank and the sound is likely when the gas tank flexes during expansion and contraction. Sounds like a piece of metal flexing out during...

Does anyone else drive around with their back right seat down?

I drive around with the entire 2nd row down for 2 reasons. The unobstructed view and ease of access cargo. I fly fish a lot so I keep my boots and waders right behind my drivers seat. Very convenient to access. The unobstructed view and no blind spots in one of the things I really like about my...

    Wheel bearing gone bad coincidence?

Had same issue at about 150K miles on my 2002 Yukon but it was a grinding sound that got worse over time (I don't drive a lot). Ordered Summit Racing brand hub for about $80. Problem solved.... for about 12K miles. New/different sound but coming from the same area, front drivers side. Traced...

    Odometer off - Re calibration

Everybody's getting all mathy on me. Not a math guy but can read an odo and it was 1/10 of a mile off. But... I do appreciate the input and ideas. Still kind of an interesting topic. I thought the deal was kind of interesting. What really got my attention, when I called the dealer and asked...

    Odometer off - Re calibration

Open to any other ideas/answers why my odo would be off 1/10th on my old tires. In fact, checked my odo RIGHT BEFORE I went in for new tires wondering if tire wear might have been the issue. On my ride, immediately checked the odo and BAM, I'm back at accurate.

    Odometer off - Re calibration

UPDATE - I figured it out. I had to buy new tires and the odometer is calibrated to the exact size. Tire wear (my were worn but not to a level they were unsafe, just needed new) on your tires causes the odometer to be incorrect (kind of a, duh, comment) but who knew a 1/10th of a mile? Just...

    Odometer off - Re calibration

Have you ever check your odometer to see if it's correct? I did and it's almost exactly 1/10th off per mile. I did the math for about 170K miles and that equals 17000 miles above actual. Anyone ever have their odometer re-calibrated? I have the same tires that came from the factory so no changes...

    Odometer off - Re calibration

02 Yukon - My odometer is off 1/10th of a mile = 17,000 miles over actual assuming an issue from purchase new. Anyone have any experience adjusting the odometer? How is the calibration adjusted. If you took to a shop, how much was the re-calibration?

    Pressure wash carpet ??

I use liquid laundry detergent. Vacuum really well. Wet, pour liquid laundry detergent on the carpet and scrub with a stiff bristle brush and then let sit in the sun to heat up. Take to the coin-op car wash and rinse. After the mud stops poring out in the rinse process, they look as good as new.
