Your Vehicles as they sit now....

I have a tune/AFM delete and a few other updates. Pretty sure the loss is from the added weight for the 20s, they're about 30lbs per corner additional. My '17 crew cab lost 2.5mpg when I went with 20s and larger all terrain tires... I'm fine giving up a little efficiency to look back and smile...

Your Vehicles as they sit now....

I know, I miss the serenity and the snow activities. My wife is over the cold and darkness so we're seasonal now. The antenna isn't communicating out per a Tech2... the GPS is all confused too. It's not leaking and I use Apple Car Play for maps so I'm not sweating it currently. I got 20.1 last...

Done with another AK to GA commute, burb still going strong with over 166k miles.

I keep racking up the miles... I owe her a spa day now, always love road tripping this thing.

$5.43/Gallon. Driving like Grandma from now on!

Just drove across the continent... Georgia to Alaska. It cost me $850 last April in an 04 Suburban getting 13mpg and this year it was $1,100 in the 16 Suburban getting 18 mpg. Definitely putting a damper on things but it's still not the worst I've seen, Alaska was over $5/gal in 2011-2012.

We got my wife a new car so the burb is "mine" now... It's up to 148k miles and got a fresh transmission with some upgrades. I also added Bilstein 5100s on the first notch with 275/55R20 Toyo AT3s. Pretty happy with the look, taking off to head back to Alaska tomorrow!

Swapped on some 20" take offs for the green burb. Now both NBS trucks are on newer take offs.

Show me your white letter out tire pics

Here is my 2004 4x4 Burb with white letters out, previous owner put on the Coopers and I have been impressed so far. They do well in the rain and are quiet... they're a little soft for my taste but I'm coming from E load range KO2s and like a stiffer ride.

How to find a good used motor?

I drove one of my milkshake 5.3s from Columbia, SC to Chicago, IL and back... just make sure it has enough fluids to get home.

How to find a good used motor?

Where are you located? I have done the swap several times over the years a few different ways, here's a couple quick thoughts: 1. eBay sellers with good feedback are a good starting point, there are several dismantlers that specialize in engine packages. This would net some security and...

    Cross Continent Tune Review

Not a dumb question at all... I don't know 100% to be honest. The way I have always prepared for the tune is get all maintenance up to date (all 3 vehicles I've had done we're used) and install any short term mods I have planned. That way they can maximize everything and it all works together...

Yes, I got approved to work remotely in the off season at my company. I will be in Georgia (where I'm from originally) from Oct-Mar every year now... then back up to Alaska for the summer season.

Your Vehicles as they sit now....

Dirty... and tired... :anitoof: Drove from Healy, Alaska to North Georgia in 5 days with my poor dog. Great trip with no issues, putting miles on the burb is quite enjoyable... and it slept okay too. Last pic in AK... My no-hotel policy in full effect... better than my last trip in an ECSB...

    Cross Continent Tune Review

I finally got around to getting my 2016 Suburban tuned this summer, just in time to drive from Healy, Alaska to North Georgia. The Suburban has paid it's Alaska dues and will now live out it's days in a much kinder environment in the southeast. Here's the rundown on the current modifications...

Anyone actually use these trucks for off-roading? I'd love to hear feedback/experiences...

I can't stand the way they look... I have issues.

Anyone actually use these trucks for off-roading? I'd love to hear feedback/experiences...

Yeah, it must have caught it just right... here's the culprit, the plug went right through it :nolol: It has definitely captivated me... Alaska is like no where else I've been! Bring a spare if you drive up :anitoof:

Anyone actually use these trucks for off-roading? I'd love to hear feedback/experiences...

Oh, I know... trust me... this is the wife's daily and headed to Georgia soon is the only reason the same tire spec didn't stay on it. I wish I could have held out replacing the KO2s until it's back in the southeast this winter but at 65k miles they were about toast and terrible in the rain...

Anyone actually use these trucks for off-roading? I'd love to hear feedback/experiences...

Well here's some feedback on the Toyo A/T3s... they don't hold up to gravel well. They do great in the rain, are very quiet, and my mpg has improved significantly over the E load range KO2s but this is the second hole a rock has punctured through the tread of the A/T3s. I would say they're great...

Anyone actually use these trucks for off-roading? I'd love to hear feedback/experiences...

Thanks, pics really don't do it justice... there's so much space up here the views never get old. I ran BFG KO2s for 65k miles until this summer. I switched to Toyo A/T3s and like them so far, I did poke a hole in one already though and never did with the KO2s... so we'll see how long they hold...

Anyone actually use these trucks for off-roading? I'd love to hear feedback/experiences...

Between summer camping trips and winter survival I think I test the abilities of my Suburban pretty well... from -50F days in winter to old mining roads and creek crossings in the summer it has done well. I don't take it down narrow trails (don't want branch stripes) nor do I go to places that...

Your Vehicles as they sit now....

I wish I had the equipment to capture it... it's hard to describe and catch on camera. When my sister lived up here near me (she works in Antarctica now lol) she took some great photos and videos but I haven't ever made that investment.

Your Vehicles as they sit now....

No cell service and only one gas station for 500 miles. I brought 2 spare tires and my entire road tool box. Got lucky and had no issues but it's not uncommon, the burb is at 114k now... it's starting to get annoyed with me :anitoof: I've been here off and on since 2010, it's definitely gets...
