    Metal on drain plug magnet

Honestly, if it were me before I started with rebuilding I'd probably dump a bottle of seafoam in it and run it for a few miles and dump the oil. Fill her up with some budget (if there is such a thing these days) dino oil and add another bottle of seafoam for a few more miles. Then change out...

AC Delco has gone down the crapper like everything else

Yeah, that's why I have a tough time replacing things that aren't broken. Especially these days since parts are just getting made cheaper and cheaper :(

    Help

Crappy way to start the day! Sounds like a weak battery to me. If you can get it jumped off, drive it to Advance or Auto Zone and get them to check it for you.

    Positive remarks

Good looking ride, the white is still my favorite. I enjoy driving my 2001 Hoe much more than the NNBS model we have at work. I think ours are so much more comfortable!

    Damn, I hate that :(

When is enough to let go?

I think we will all get to that point eventually. I've always done most of my own work as well on older vehicles. Hell, my 2001 Hoe is my NEWEST vehicle! It's a personal choice that involves how much time we have, how able are we to do it (health, space, and tools), money, etc. I think as...

Do we have any snow runner's.....aad just wanted 2 Wish yall a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.....and be safe out there....

Merry Christmas to all! Had to run my fiancé to work this morning in the Hoe. It’s blowing snow and around 14 but will be around 0 by the time I pick her up this evening. I hate winter myself

    Oil filter recommendations?

I like the K&Ns too because of the nut but since these are pretty easy to get to I'll also use ACDelco & Wix if I see a good deal.

What Oil To Use in My 6.0 Denali

I love Amsoil but the Rotella oils are good quality oil too and for the price they're great imho.

    AGM battery recommended?

I did some research on these after having 2-3 new AutoCraft Silver batteries from Advance shit the bed on me very quickly. I decided to go with the Duracell AGM from Batteries+Bulbs in both my DSM and Hoe. Time will tell I guess but so far so good. I didn't realize Advance was now pushing the...

2nd Question for my Newly/Oldie 06 XL Denali

Good brand name digital receivers are so reasonably priced these days I'd just swap it out for a new head unit. I fooled around with adapters until I was sick of them.

    Dirty Fuel Pump Rumor

Agreed. I've also heard this for years from both long-time owners and mechanics locally. I try to keep this habit with all my vehicles but definitely with the Hoe.

    Coolant Reservoir Clean Out

Agreed, that's where I got mine.

    Looking good too!

    Brake pads

Same, I went with the drilled/slotted rotor and pad kit and have been quite impressed with the improvement over stock.

    Sold the Yukon XL today...

Sad to see them go for sure, but at least you still have the Hoe :)

    Alternator Suggestions

I just suggest looking it over good to make sure it's a match when you get it in, no matter where you buy one. I ordered a brand new AC Delco alternator for my DSM last year and the numbers on the box and alternator matched...it wasn't even close. I did a return on it and got the replacement...

Atf in fuel tank to clean injectors.

I was also told (by an old timer) that this is what they used on all the local county vehicles. I did it for a long time with no problems on all my vehicles but I've been doing the Seafoam method for the last several years before an oil change (1/3 in tank, 1/3 in vacuum line, 1/3 in crankcase).

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

Sucks man, but I agree with everyone that I'd let them do it. It's just piece of mind for the future.

    Oil question

Welcome! I switched my Hoe with around 150k to fully synthetic when I got her with no problems. Currently using Penz Platinum but I do plan on switching to Amsoil Signature series when I get through my supply. I like the Wix as mentioned but the K&N filters are also good quality.
