    Electronic dampening control

If you look at RockAuto’s site you’ll see that GM recently went to individual part numbers for the left & right hand sides up front. You’ll also see that the there’s two different options up front for z55 left or right sides. You’ll have to look at the sticker inside the glove box door to match...

2009 Yukon XL Denali - Front & Rear Suspension Refresh

Again, not trying to be Debbie Downer. Front z55 are $3h ea and rear are $3h ea. Both have a 5% off discount. All guaranteed for life. Key word, life. I did 3 kids in our 08 YXL Denali and locked up the truck in a full panic stop just once at 75 in the 6 years of ownership. They literally steer...

Lowered suspension still has a lean

Are there any markings on the strut set that was cut? Paint marks, stickers, digits stamped in?

2009 Yukon XL Denali - Front & Rear Suspension Refresh

All the live data that’s fed through the rear suspension module and other sensors are tied into the active suspension calculations for when & how much dampening & rebound the struts should get. Later models after ‘10 also incorporate active sway control for towing, auto hill descent braking and...

    2007 escalade high beams

Flash to pass is pulling the left stalk back toward the wheel. Obviously, high beams don’t stay on. High beams are turned on when you push the left stalk away from the steering wheel. They stay on until you manually pull it back. Does your blue high beam indicator light up when you do flash to...

Universal Remote System: Can It Be Re-Wired to Ignition or RAP for Its Power Source?

Is there a phone app that can open / close garage doors? Damn! I never realized the consequences of having a remote in the truck to have a field day in the garage and or house. 10 Stars to you today for bringing that up.

2009 Yukon XL Denali - Front & Rear Suspension Refresh

As soon as the resistors go in the truck is being told it’s driving 70 mph straight down the highway when you it may actually be ass end out in a tailspin trying to avoid an obstacle in the next lane. ABS, Stabilatrac & Yaw sensors will be totally clueless where your wheels are and go into...

    Fuel pump

In general on GM full size SUV they used the three port fuel pumps on the 07 & 08 5.3 & 6.2 motors. Two of the lines are fuel supply & return. The early 07 & 08 three port design use the same, but the thrid hose in the center goes to the evap canister, then into the fuel tank.

    Captains Chair Swap

Stupid question, are you swap’g bench seat for the captains chairs or just the captains chairs for different ones? Some of the features that might come into play are electric fold feature or heated seats. The 08 will have sculpted abs plastic, carpeted surrounds that go around each of the...

To good to be true? / Advice

That’s might be why he titled his post To Good to be True. Sometimes we pack up and take over the campground near San Clemente State beach. That’s two miles away. Occasionally it’s the destination, not the journey.

To good to be true? / Advice

Check your car shield warranty for the cost / deductible of not taking the truck to the selling dealer. You may need to add a zero deductible option. Does it cover the MagRide as well as the air struts in back? Almost all GM parts have a lifetime warranty now so getting them replaced on...

    This truck is incredible

Sheer mass, height above the road and crumple zone is going to protect you like a herd of elephants surrounding the little ones. I’ll bet you never thought your day would end up like that. Really, really glad you’re ok. The last encounter we had in our Esky with airborne construction materials...

Fuel Back Flow/Where Would You Start? - SOLVED

OMG! You just blew 6 hours diagnostic time and $9h the dealership could of charged you. Fail! Really though, you just hit the jackpot in heading off one of the biggest headaches in the 07-14 trucks. You can now order the OEM a/c Delco lifetime replacement fuel pump, carbon canister and fuel...

Engine knock and don’t know what it could be

The 6.0 was just another temp option with less work vs the 5.3. More hp/tq and poss flex with Reg gas. If you can save the mighty L9H, do it. Price aftermarket heads vs having the OEM serviced. The significant flow will free up hp with little to no effort with a mild cam. Just enough to enjoy...

    Accessory Drive Belt Maintenance?

That’s the ironic part is there’s made in China by GM authorized that’s OK, and there’s made in China defective parts that go to their dumpster. The security guard arranged to sell the dumpster defects parts to Joe’s clearance store and BAM! You’re screwed.

Fuel Back Flow/Where Would You Start? - SOLVED

2011 Tahoe LT. You’re on the right track for what to look at when you don’t have a scanner. The good news is replacing those related vacuum / emissions items are due because of the age of the truck so you’re not really just throwing parts at it. A parts house or garage will also have a tester...

Engine knock and don’t know what it could be

Meh, I’m not really sure your issue is with the top end. I think that’s the DOD / displacement on demand option some 6.2 had  Someone else just lost the L9H in their newly acquired 09 Denali. They went through the motions to resurrect it for the next 250k in a thread. If you have a...

    Accessory Drive Belt Maintenance?

It was a cheap (not USA) idler pulley made by a (not USA) company that allowed the accessory belt to come off at 50+ down hill, off a highway, to a intersection I couldn’t turn into or stop at. My 3T YXL Denali had 5 teens inside and we could of all been killed because of a cheap $7 idler...

Sputtering, very rough idle and wants to shut off

Welcome from SoCal. I’m guessing you’re up North. I see you’re just getting it broke in. Three things come to mind… Rotting battery cables from inside out. Regardless of the exterior appearance, change them if you never have. This … And lastly that dreaded carbon canister under the truck...

Engine knock and don’t know what it could be

Hey, Welcome. I think you’d be impressed if I said the spark plug wire directly in front on the left hand side is bad and to replace it, but I can’t, so we’ve gotta ask a few questions. * Has anyone else already looked into this for you? * How long has it been going on? * Had any work done in...
