Any real problems with your truck?

Hmm... Yeah, I know, a gamble either way. I'm just undecided on it. I know that as soon as I drop it, it will all fall to pieces. :)

Any real problems with your truck?

Well, I asked a similar question over a year ago when I was getting my new to me 2007 Yukon, but I'm going to pose a similar one again. Long story short, I paid a decent bit of extra money for a very comprehensive extended warranty. Basically covers everything that isn't normal wear and tear...

    Too Soon For Synthetic?

I was thinking they started putting synthetic, or possibly a syntech blend, in them out the door these days? Could just be something I am making up though. :) Either way, switch when you want to switch and just stick with it. I've run synthetic oil in engines both much more complex (and, picky...

    Horrible gas mileage.. something wrong?

Are you going by the built in computer or are you calculating your own ratings? I find the built in to be off.

    cargo liner

Ah, I missed that you said that. I'm glad I'm not crazy, thinking it was thin. I do think it will hold up though. I just can't stand the way it fits. I'm sure that the other mats fit great, as I have seen them in some other trucks, but it is just the principle of the thing. I am refusing to get...

    cargo liner

I'm going to have to be the naysayer on the Weathertech cargo liner. For what it cost, I found it to be rather lacking. Don't get me wrong, it is better than no liner, but I find the fit is not very good, the material is thinish (but it tough, I'm not exactly worried about putting a hole in...

thoughts on 8.1L Vortec vs. 6.6L Duramax

I'd be a little weary of turning the power up to the top stages on a truck with that many miles, but I must say I'm not an expert on the HD line or the Allison's. From anecdotal evidence, I'd say that as long as they have been maintained well, they should still be pretty solid (from the engine...

thoughts on 8.1L Vortec vs. 6.6L Duramax

Then you want the Duramax. A programmer isn't going to have nearly as much impact on a naturally aspirated engine as it would where there is a turbo involved. Generally speaking, the same is true on the exhaust and intake. Both will realize more performance gains when you are looking at...

    Interior plastic cheap?

It is a GM product, it is going to be cheap plastic. It is just the nature of the beast. They are getting better though.

    Best window cleaner to use?

Another vote for Invisible Glass. I have used a couple of other things in the past, but I always come back to that stuff as it works quite well for the price.

07 Yukon SLT without adjustable pedals?

How did you find out that you have the SLT-1 package vs any of the other SLT packages (sticker maybe?)? Just curious as I also have a 2007 SLT w/o those two options. There is a link to a VIN checker on here (search for something like "how rare is" or VIN checker or the like and it should show...

    Bluetooth Recommendation

If you didn't need it displaying on the factory nav, I'd take a look at Parrot: http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/bluetooth-hands-free-car-kits I had one on a car several years ago and it worked pretty awesomely back then. No wires, professional install. Just a little display box that I was...

    Painting my Tire?

Yup, just tell the place to mount it with the white lettering on the inside. They generally have the exact same lettering on the other side, just all in unpainted rubber.

    paint job

4~5K is what I've typically heard for a pretty top notch job. We aren't talking car show, keep it under a dust cover quality, but basically back to how it looked (probably better knowing GM's cheap paints) from the factory. I honestly wouldn't be surprised about 7k for repairs + everything...

Will it fit in my garage

You don't have to drive that particular one home, just go to the nearest dealer and express interest in one that they have. Then, test drive it right up to the garage.

    Cleaned up my whip

That is how I got to be with my big box. It was such a pain to do anything with. I sold it with the car and got an Infinity Basslink (small car, it did enough), but even that took up a bit of room. My X5 was smart about it though, they had the amp completely hidden in the back and a sub hidden...

    xm help. no factory installed.

Yeah, there has been a Terk unit since about 2007 (midway in the year maybe?) that will do this. Scater, you might look around for one of those too, they have been discontinued for a newer model, so they are going pretty cheap these days. I have seen a GM or two with one and it seemed to...

    Cleaned up my whip

Really like the amp placement, unobtrusive is a win in my book. Question to you (or anyone with boxes like that), do you just pull it out when you want to do something useful with your truck? Back when I was young and halfway dumb at 16, I had a big box with a big Kicker in my car's trunk. I...

Anyone regret removing their side door moldings on the 07-up SUVs?

I think the clean look is great too, but I've seen more than a few carts, car doors, and other things that have hit the molding instead of the door. Like you said, function over beauty. I cringe a bit when something hits the molding, but if it was hitting the door, I'd be PO'd

    Got $1000 to spend...what should I get...

You have a nice head unit now, why not upgrade your stock speakers? Get some components for up front and some coaxials for the back, then a decent 4 channel amp. You can get pretty good quality of all of the above for under a grand, but then you have to factor in the install if you don't want...

    Headrest Monitors

www.onfair.com I have the 9inch, rotating screens (which, you don't have enough clearance to actually rotate, I would have gone with the fixed screen had I know. I suppose you could lean your seat back further to get them to do it..) with the zippers. Match is pretty spot on for the tan. You...

    Fuse box tap

Yup, fuse box tap. I'm using this little fella here: http://www.outdoorpros.com/Prod/Bussmann-BP-HHH-ATM-Fuse-Tap-%282-Pack%29/65294/Cat/1234?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=googlebase&cvsfa=1184&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=3635323934 Though I got it from my local audio guys for 3 bucks. Works like a charm...

    Fuse box tap

That would explain my problem. Seems to me that some of them would be acc powered. I would think that I wouldn't be able to use the rear hvac controls while in the off position, which I believe has a fuse there (though, I could be mistaken and I have not tried that particular one yet...).

    Fuse box tap

I'm using the fuse panel on the side of the dash by the drivers door. I have a little tap that holds 2 fuses that you just replace one of the fuses in the box with. My latest try is marked as "cooled seats," but that is providing always on power as well. I'd sit there and just keep on trying...

    Fuse box tap

Anyone know of a good place to put my tap that is only getting power after the truck is on (well, at least the key is in the ac or whatever position)? I've tried a couple that I figured would be that way, but, so far, they have all had continuous power.
