Don't know about the shafts as I've not done them myself but I've swapped all the parts you have listed. The ball joints weren't too bad, I used the loaner tool from Autozone and air tools. I'm in AZ so my stuff isn't fuzed together by 25 years of road salt.
It's not that hard. Just need a few hand tools and a few new ones that you will need. Follow the ATSG rebuild guide, use good parts and take your time. These things don't fall out of the sky built in the heavens, they are built here on Earth by men ... men like me and you with hands and tools.
Sorry but you aren't going to gain 120 HP with a carb and intake swap on that engine using the factory cam.
Those trannys didn't have a vacuum signal to assist with the kick down like the ones 20 years ago did. It was TPS driven so you will need a TPS signal to feed the ECU to get it to run...
The JB8 brake calipers are the 1 ton pieces. Yes they bolt right up, I did them on my Tahoe years ago. I also replaced the flexible rubber line with a custom braided stainless setup. I swapped pads at that time but I'm not sure if that was required or not. You will have to swap the master to...
I did my 86 Mustang alignment at home with tools from HomeDepot. If you understand how to do it and take your time you can get it pretty close. I got mine as close as I could and took it to the shop to have it checked. The measurements on the before portion of the sheet were all in the green...
I really expected chunks of that ring or pinion to be missing. Perhaps the crush sleeve crushed, it's possible the bearings are bad, there is one in the front and one in the back.
You will need an intake and possibly and adapter depending on your intake. You will need a tune to make it run right. If it's a longblock with the timing cover already installed there is a hole in the cover that will need to be plugged. Also the cooling system will be a tad different. I would...
Started assembly of the bottom end of the new bullet. Got the crank and bearings in, main caps are torqued with ARP fasteners. The pistons are hung on the rods with care ... and floating pins with locks. Rings are all measured, piston and rod assemblies are all weight matched. Tomorrow the...
You have an open water temp hole in the passengers head that you can use. For the oil pressure feed you'll likely need to tee into the existing switch since you need to retain that.
If you're on a limited budget stick with the stock 1.5s, the horse power gain isn't worth the money or headache. Going to a roller rocker will give you some hp.
