    Thank you! I want to replace the ground straps on the engine. I know there is one that goes to the firewall, are there more than one? I am also wanting to add another ground wire from the engine to the frame.

    Thanks everyone for the responses. I have been meaning to do the big 3 upgrade for a while now. This will help me get motivated. Does this sound right in regards to the big 3: Replace the ground from neg battery to engine block, neg battery to frame, then the positive cable to the alternator...

    Looking for some help with my 2010 Tahoe LT 5.3 I apologize in advance for the long post, trying to provide all the info. About a 2 weeks ago, I drove my Tahoe for about 20 mins and parked it for about 6-7 hrs. I went to start it and everything was dead. No interior lights, no power locks, etc...

    @kbuskill Interesting, I didn't know that. Just curious, when you say "basically a direct bolt over"...what did you need to do to get the alternator to fit in your Tahoe? And you installed it on your 2008 Tahoe? Seriously thinking going this route now...

    Thanks for the replies. As to the Big 3 upgrade, I read some threads going over it. My understanding is you replace the wire from the alternator to the positive battery terminal, replace the ground wire from the neg battery terminal to engine mount and then the ground wire from neg battery...
