Also, when you mount the adapter to the transmission, and t-case to the adapter you must use gaskets. RTV won't cut it, the transmission will shit fluid all over your driveway as soon as you start it up.

NP246 to NP208 solid axle swap VSS

1st, the front end isn't done yet. Still need to build the front axle, which requires more money. B, California's Air Resource Board doesn't like if you move the catalytic converters from their original locations. Doesn't matter if tube lengths remain the same, if the new cats are more...

NP246 to NP208 solid axle swap VSS

I did. I emailed back and forth with Dakota Digital (who were incredibly helpful). I settled on using the SEN-01-1 sending unit, plugged into the aft most pickup on the tail housing and same position as on the 246, and the SGI-100BT to convert the pulse-per-mile signal. Got a speedometer signal...

NP246 to NP208 solid axle swap VSS

Alright, first, it's been a long time since I've been here. Second, I'm finally getting around to this solid axle swap. The only front axle I could get a hold of (for not an extortionate price) in SoCal was a passenger pumpkin 10 bolt, out of a 1990 or 91 Suburban, which dictates a...

    No reverse (backup) lights

I fixed my lights. After replacing the switch with the instructions provided by Sunlit I still didn't have lights. My logic was, both back up lights wouldn't burn out at the same time. To make sure I pulled the turn light bulbs out and switched them with the reverse lights. ************...

    No reverse (backup) lights

I would like to use that information you posted Sunlit, but the pictures. Every time I visit this thread I see a different set of pictures. Right now it's a serpentine layout for something, a 5-speed trans, and some other stuff. Earlier I'm pretty sure it was some Corolla stuff and random wiring...

    No reverse (backup) lights

I have a similar issue. No reverse lights. Difference is my transmission indications are correct, including the engine only starting in park and neutral. Could it be the same cause?

    lets see your 2door rig

It plugs into the hitch. The only problem is when it's on I can't open the back doors, which is rather inconvenient. The price was right, though, since I rescued it from a trash dumpster. I found it in the trash rusted to hell. So I took it home cleaned it up and painted it. Pulling the spare...

    How do I fix this?!

Finally fixed the roof rack. My JB Weld solution did not work. it failed almost immediately. How I fixed it. Removed the headliner to access the underside of the roof. The headliner was held in by, moving from back to front: Plastic trim, Bolts through the hooks and grab handles, back seat...

Roof rack bolts are spinning - please help

Piss poor design the way our racks are mounted.

Roof rack bolts are spinning - please help

If the bolts are spinning and not coming out there's two possibilities. Either the bolts are stripped or the receptacle in the roof has broken free in the roof allowing it to spin in it's hole. If the bolt is stripped then it will be about an even pressure to turn it the whole way around. You...

    4x4 Rigs - Long Haul - Photos??

Roof rack tents? Powered coolers? Shit sounds pussy. When I go camping I often don't bring a tent. I have military cot a stole from work and sleeping bags. Only if there's bad weather on the horizon do I consider bringing a tent. You could just fold down the back seats and sleep in there, done...

    OBD DTC's, can't find 'em

Damn, that about as much info as I could have asked for. Thank you. The second code. I rescanned it and got the same number, C0895. Truck is a 1998 Tahoe, 5.7, two door, Z71, LT. Don't know what other info you'd need.

    OBD DTC's, can't find 'em

So, my ABS light came on. ABS is not that big of an issue for me but since it's come on the truck just hasn't been right. It's been weak on start up cranking over and the truck feels sluggish driving. So, I plugged in an OBD reader to see if any codes came up. I got two and they're not in my...

    My new 1970 DeVille

Completely different. With the old springs the stance was bad ass but the ride was just bad. The new suspension the stance ain't quite as good but the ride is amazing.

    My new 1970 DeVille

No, just riding on the original 40 year old suspension. Old vs. new, I could compress those springs by hand. I could fully stroke the shocks by hand. She sits proper now. Rides again like a Cadillac should.

    How do I fix this?!

I pulled the rear of the headliner(held up by bolts in the grab handles and the trim in the rear) and there is a metal plate that covers those receptacles from the inside. I was going to run bolts all the way through and put fender washers and nuts on the inside, securing the washer and nut to...

    CV Shafts Binding

The solution I suggest to any CV problem on a lifted truck is RCV. Because that's what I got and I love 'em. https://www.rcvperformance.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=35&products_id=36 It doesn't use spacers which worsen the angles, it's telescoping. Before I got them I've been...

    How do I fix this?!

Me and a buddy of mine, we're talking about patching the holes and then welding the rack directly to the roof.

    How do I fix this?!

I considered a vinyl roof since it would match my Caddy. But I use that rack. For the spare, my lights and gas cans, sometimes firewood. Plus, I lose some of my trucks off road cred. Gotta keep the cool factor.
