The sale also includes most of the original parts that came off of the truck, except the running boards. The original set of wheels and tires are also included.
Finally after owning three of these cool trucks in the last 27 years it's finally time to say goodbye. So, here is a link to my sales ad on ClassicCars.com- https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1828981/1999-chevrolet-tahoe-for-sale-in-encinitas-california-92024 . Went live today. If anybody...
Here is the dual exhaust configuration the original owner installed on my two door two wheel drive Tahoe. I ultimately removed it and installed a Gibson cat-back exhaust setup. It sounded bad IMHO and the rear axle clearance was not good. I'd stick with an over axle setup; there is no free lunch...
Sorry, never compared the mileage to the two exhausts. I added a shorty header at the same time as the Gibson and also added a Hypertech tune so no idea how much it changed. Since then, added a Whipple SC so it's changed even more.
Saw this one on CL that you might be interested in; higher mileage but LS conversion plus a lot of other modifications-https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/d/los-angeles-1999-chevy-tahoe-door-ls/7621866972.html.
Too bad you weren't looking for a two wheel drive/barn door original 33k mile...
Here's a link I found that shows the contents of the Whipple Supercharger Kit for 96-01 GM 5.0/5.7L Vortec Truck & SUV (2WIP57-050) https://superchargersonline.com/2002/05/22/how-to-install-a-whipple-supercharger-system/ . You can see that the part looks like the one I sent you, so the one you...
I can't help you with that one, since I am only familiar with my setup. I'd still try and call John Bond and see what he says about it. It might just be an earlier version of the same part; both have the same 96 350 MAF label on them, so that would suggest to me that they served the same...
When I bought my 2 door 2 wheel drive Tahoe it had a "dual exhaust" on it all the way to the rear, with a 4"/6" drop. It was run underneath the rear axle, because if your Tahoe is lowered there is virtually no room for dual exhausts. I took it off and went with a Gibson cat back system that...
Just happened to have my hood open on my '99 Two wheel drive with a Whipple that I restored and installed. Did you try John Bond Performance? They have a significant amount of Whipple parts inventory. Is this the bracket you are talking about?
I need a set of rear leaf springs for my 2 Door/2 wheel drive and couldn't find any recent threads. What's the current thinking on the best supplier/manufacturer?
Here's my DD for the last ten years. Found it with only 10k og miles on it when I bought it from the og owner. Put a Whipple on it for some extra oomph from the fairly anemic Vortec. These trucks are definitely on the move, probably getting pulled up as much from the interest in the early...
Excellent description of the two doors, I think of it as a modern Nomad. Have had three of them over the years, and have been using one as my DD for the last ten years. Got only 33k on it.
@iamdub, Sorry, I thought that it was clear that the 4/6 drop and the accompanying suspension photo made it clear that the suspension had been modified. I was referring to the interior and the body.
@tom3, why is the SC a negative? I looked long and hard to find an OG California approved...
@OR VietVet, if someone wants to put it back to stock I have alot of the original parts in my garage. I even have the original wheels and tires, so if someone wanted one bad enough it could be done. Nothing has been cut, the interior is stock and perfect.
OR VietVet,
I'm in San Diego, bottom is as clean as the top. Here is a couple of pics of the bottom. Really, big discounts to members? I always seemed to pay retail whenever I bought something from another member! :)
