    I've been using Walmart or Costco synthetic oil and started using napa platinum filters. Oil is cheaper and meets specifications and filter is wix but cheaper somehow. At least then I know it's decent stuff on my truck

    I would add something like this to the oil pipe as GM only uses one bolt, just added security. Link to cradle There are other versions, it ensures it cannot come loose etc.

    Sorry to add more stuff . New exhaust manifold bolts would be a good idea, I had one snapped before even starting the task. It may save some pain at a later date if you are doing any further work or mods. I did spark plugs also as I was doing maintenance also.

    I wrapped mine up in black tape, made sure it was sealed to prevent gremlins appearing later. I had afm turned off prior to strip down by tuner, it's surplus to requirements and nothing to attach it to.

    I had similar issue with those two bolts underneath as it didn't seem to line up. I used a wooden lever (hammer handle ) to adjust the oil pan to get a better fit with some wiggling. Another reason I will remove engine if I do this again

    When Installing cam I put a generous coating of assembly lube on it as well as the pushrod tips, springs, rocker arms. I used a L96 cam to keep VVT in my LMG which appears to work well.     It also gave me an opportunity to replace the timing chain, oil pump, new exhaust bolts (replace snapped ones), new spark plugs, oil pan clean (full of gunk) coolant change along with lifters cam etc. Full Afm delete is preventative maintenance for the engine in the long run as you have removed...
