That sucks. I hate to do an actual retrofit since VA police will write you for "improper equipment" for anything that isn't factory, so I'd rather put less into it if I end up having to remove it.
My AC Delcos on the rear don't dust at all, but wasn't sure if the fronts would be the same story. Thanks for the input everyone!

I've now put 30k on these and they've got at least 20k to go, lots of tread left. The only downside so far is my mpg's dropped 2mpg on hwy. Not sure if that's from the tires ir the leveling kit or both. I'm only getting 17.5 hwy now, and that's after the BlackBear tune (which makes the vehicle...
My stock pads/rotors on the front were replaced awhile ago with r1 concepts rotors (stock ones were warped) and Hawk pads. The Hawk pads put off a TON of dust and just didn't brake well until you warmed them up quite a bit, so I swapped them out for EBC Greenstuff pads at the recommendation of...
I'm having a hard time finding a part number for it. My headlights are on 95% of the time, so I want to replace the light sensor on the dash. Anyone have a part number for it? 2007 Tahoe
Still have this? Since you haven't installed it, I don't imagine you can answer this, but does the glass wobble? My driver side is shaking when at interstate speeds and it's driving me crazy.
My 4100NEX mic is on the rear of the light fixture in the center, picks me and others up pretty well. Definitely has road noise in it at highway speeds though for the recipient of my call.
Late on this, but unless you plan on getting the OEM camera, get the one without the cutout. My aftermarket one mounts with screws to the bottom of the applique
I assume both will flash for signal if I just use a wire? I'd like drl and park light to be on together for DRL duties and have both flash for signaling. Both on with headlights is fine too.
This is definitely easier than jumping wires on the harness behind the headlights. I did that for...
I replaced my front, badly warped stock rotors and pads with R1 Concepts rotors and Hawk HPS pads 3 years ago and now I'm feeling the familiar shaking when braking. The steering wheel isn't doing any shaking at all, so I assume it to be the rear rotors that are warped.
I'm thinking about the...
You "can" just plug and play, however you're more prone to having bulbs not fire on the first try and run the risk of pulling too much current through the factory wiring (burning it in two or worst case, starting a fire from the hot wire). The power/ground/fuse pull directly from the battery...
Unfortunately all of this info isn't well documented anywhere, so I happened to stumble upon it. Metra phone support is actually pretty knowledgeable too.

Yep, the app is much easier to assign buttons. I think it's android only and requires an OTG cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B4GGW5Q/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_sbD5wbHWKS1NF
You plug that cable into your phone, then plug a micro usb cable into that cable and into the Axxess unit (if I'm...
I assigned a button to the microphone and it works fine. I used the one that looks like a person's face. I made up/down arrows next/previous track and don't really remember what I did with the others (apparently I don't use those enough to know)

If you're using the Axxess module I highly recommend the smartphone app, makes setting it up much much easier. Mine stopped working for a but and I recrimped the connection to the steering controls wire and it's been fine every since. I'd like to go back and solder some of my connections (such...
