So what I've learned from yall - go OEM on front suspension!

dont forget to do a trim height re-calibration after you install new struts. mechanic should have a scanner that can do this. My autel can do this.

So what I've learned from yall - go OEM on front suspension!

Dont forget teh 5% discount code at rock auto. do a search here. There's a running list for the 5% coupon code for rockauto. I did not replace the uppers on the shocks. they looked fine. $300 for labor is a steal. It's not just replacing the shock. you have to compress them to remove the...

Arnott MR4262 for replacing front Magneride Z95 suspension info

I believe we only have 91 or 87 here at the costco pumps. My mind is blown with the mpg on these big trucks. I'm running stock on 91 fuel and average 19. It can do well over 20 on the highway. That's crazy for such a big truck.

Arnott MR4262 for replacing front Magneride Z95 suspension info

I drove mine for a bit, but it never settled down. It was so bad it felt like it would bounce and catch air over speed bumps. I recommend getting just the shocks and keeping the OEM springs if you want a plush ride. Did the passive arnott come with air as well? and how did you bypass the...

    Another Magneride question.....

I measured before and after. from wheel arch to mid fender, it was 6 inches with arnott springs. with OEM back on it's holding stead at 5.5 inches. (20 in rims)

    Another Magneride question.....

@Big Mama confimred. the Arnot springs are physically thicker than OEM. i swapped back my old ones and the ride quality is much better. the car no longer hops over speed bumps. the Arnott springs included in the Arnott quickstrut is garbage for the yukonxl.

Long term update: Truck rides great with the ARnott shocks and and OEM springs with OEM top. the driver side strut is seeping a little fluid on the shock body. not dripping, but There's a light coating of shock oil on the shaft and body of the Driver side ARnott. installed ACD rear shocks and...

Also, I measured my ride height before and after with Arnott springs 6 inches from tire to fender center with OE springs 5.5 inches from tire to fender center

Arnott MR4262 for replacing front Magneride Z95 suspension info

Major update: I could not take it anymore and installed the stock springs back in. The Arnott springs were significantly harder to compress. The coils were 50 % physically fatter than the OEM springs. My regular clamp compressor could not hook properly due to the coils being so fat. i purchased...

    Aftermarket Magnaride Bouncing

Me neither. I ended up taking off the Arnott springs and putting stock springs back on. MUCH better now.

    Aftermarket Magnaride Bouncing

I have a similar experience when I installed aftermarket Arnott magneride. It rode great at first, but after 1000 miles, it seems to have gotten more bouncy. I do realize the feeling "bouncy" is subjective and I think partially, I have gotten used to the ride and now am noticing every single...

New coil springs to make life easy?

Hi, I Don't think there are bearings in the shock mounts. Only Struts like Macpherson type have bearings. you should replace them if they seem damaged or collapsed.

    Another Magneride question.....

OP, what did you end up purchasing? would love your feedback on what you settled with. I got the Arnotts a month ago, and will be switching the springs back to OEM, and keeping the Arnott shocks, since they are working OK, but the springs are a bit stiff (probably because they gave a 2 inch lift...

Arnott MR4262 for replacing front Magneride Z95 suspension info

Thanks for the feedback. This car definitely handles better than it should for it's size. My thinking is that the Arnott springs must be stiffer, since it offers an almost 2 inch lift for the fronts (I just measured today again) I just remember the first time I drove it with the OEM springs and...

Arnott MR4262 for replacing front Magneride Z95 suspension info

Thanks for the input. I havent really heard anything bad about strutmasters. I dont have any reference on how the OEM feels since I purchased this car with 140k miles and replaced the fronts because the passenger side only was leaking. The rears are squeaking over speed bumps, but the rears ride...

Arnott MR4262 for replacing front Magneride Z95 suspension info

After a few thousand miles, I cant help but to think the ride is not as soft as it was before. It could be in my head, im not sure, but I am very close to swapping out for my stock springs. It could very well be once I swap in the OEM springs, it rides exactly the same haha. If anyone wants to...

Which brand of struts do you recommend for 2015 Yukon with Magneride?

BWI makes them, but I think they are labeled ACDelco. Dont buy from ebay. I got the Arnotts. Not really liking the 1.5 inch lift i got. If anyone wants to trade for a stock shock that's OEM, I would trade them. My arnotts are pre-loaded with springs.

Which brand of struts do you recommend for 2015 Yukon with Magneride?

I got the arnotts, and they lift up the front about 2 inches with their springs. i would recommend getting OEM and re-using old springs. and get them from reputable source like rockauto. ebay is full of counterfeits that look REAL.

    (another) magneride question

how does the car act when rolling over a speed bump? does it hit bump stops? or make a bunch of crunching noises ?
  23. M

    Ball joints recommendations?

Use OEM. The quality of Dorman or others is questionable. also get from a source like rockauto so that you dont worry about counterfeits.

I'm at a loss... Can't determine CLUNK sound

how does your car idle? Could it be motor mounts? Try to isolate the bump by doing things like pressing on the brakes/accelerating/decelerating/coasting/engine-loaded or not for example, when you are about to hit the bump, drag your brakes a little. This will put tension on the calipers and...

Arnott MR4262 for replacing front Magneride Z95 suspension info

With more miles on the Arnott, I have more feedback. Even though I dont have another Yukon to compare, I dont remember the suspension being harsh on small bumps. for example, going over bumps at low speeds is super harsh. I honestly think this is because the lift that the arnotts offer. With my...
