    #3 Cylinder Misfire Cause Found

My 2019 96K mile Denali 6.2 developed a #3 misfire, first with just a slightly noticeable rougher idle, then later on a stored code and check engine light. Found #3 plug pretty black when the others were normal white. changed plug, swapped wires and coils, checked compression and leakdown...

2020 Tahoe 6.2L Misfire and Flashing engine light and Traction Control Light on

My #3 misfire after swapping coils, sparkplugs (that one was black on one side), wires, new injectors, checking ignition pulses, ended up being a bad lifter and cam lobe on that non-afm cylinder. had good compression and leakdown, just missing lots of lift and duration, enough to create a low...

2020 6.2L: misfires, lifter issues and engine replacement - SOLVED

Correct, compression and leakdown is important if you have already went thru electrical/fuel injector issues. My #3 non afm cyl misfire after all the above test AND Compression (235 psi, 2% leakdown) ended up being a bad lifter and cam. Lifter had over .035" worn off intake roller with damage to...

Isn't always an AFM lifter that fails

Trouble shooting a #3 misfire on my 19 Denali 6.2 with 98K miles I found the #3 cyl intake lifter had serious wear on the roller and an obviously bad cam lobe. A non AFM cylinder. Question: Is it easier to remove engine to do the AFM removal/cam swap? Body is getting pretty bruised up crawling...

2019 Escalade 10L80 transmission fluid change

For those attempting to do a flush, recognize that the trans temp would need to be up to temp for the t-stat to direct much flow to the cooler.

    Lowering advice

The reason the drop spindles vary in drop is due to spring differences and truck front end weight variations. At first look you would think that with no suspension changes, a 2" drop spindle which actually raises the center of the wheel by 2" would be just that: a 2" lower truck. However the...

    2019 Console Insert tray

I have just purchased a 2019 Yukon Denali. The center console has a couple of rails on the inside edges as if there is a removable tray that fits in there closer to the top. Does anyone have a picture or part number for this piece? I have looked online but since I don't know what it looks like...

    HUD Windshield Different?

Does the Yukon with HUD use a different windshield? Reason I ask is older Corvettes used a different windshield for improved clarity for the display. Looking at a used 2019 Denali needing a new windshield and want to be sure they use the correct one.

    Does a 2024 Z51 with 6.2 require premium fuel?

I just asked a simple question. Others have made it an endless debate. Not a moral high ground. I expect to put 185K on my next one and an addition $20-22 a fill-up adds up. Doesn't really matter how much I pay for the new truck, that wasn't the question.

    Does a 2024 Z51 with 6.2 require premium fuel?

Because this one will travel 25k miles a year, like the 185K on the Current Denali.

    Does a 2024 Z51 with 6.2 require premium fuel?

You are right except I can afford the fuel, just not going to pay the ridiculous addition cost every fill up. The purpose of the question is to know it premium is required. I'm not going to buy it if so. Not pinching pennies, but not knowing the future I'm not going to lock myself into another...

    2017 Escalade/Denali L86 "requires" 93 octane - your experience?

Problem is around here its $20-$25 extra a fill-up since premium is $1 additional per gallon. Total marketing ripoff, doesn't cost 25% more to make premium.

    Does a 2024 Z51 with 6.2 require premium fuel?

Looking at a new Z51 Tahoe with 6.2, and although the fuel economy isn't great, I sure don't want to have to pay $1 gallon extra for gas. Anyone know, the EPA states Premium but I don't trust the salesmen answering.

    Brand new Trasmssion Aux pump

Just FYI, if upgrading to the new style pump takes a new style module and harness, plus a programming of the new module.

    Rear Engine Oil Leak Causes

Had a persistent and getting worse oil leak on the rear part of the engine of our 2009 Yukon. Changed the oil bypass cover and gasket above the oil filter, oil pressure sensor, Oil Pan gasket (a royal pain in the Butt), tighten all VLOM cover bolts, all with no success other than making it a bit...

Used or Salvage Engine Purchase Ideas

Recently needed an engine to replace the 234 k mile engine in our "09 Yukon Hybrid. Since they are a bit unique had to search the country. Found a 130 k mile one pretty close and the pics looked good. Had an idea to do a carfax on the vin and discovered the truck had the registration renewed in...

    Mobil 1 212, 212A oil filter changes

I have been using the Mobil 1 Oil filters on my vehicles for quite a while and use the M1-212 on my 13 Denali since it is longer and has more filter area than the original. Mobil recently replaced the M1-212 with the M1-212A which is supposed to be "Extended Performance". Below are 2 pictures...

Service bulletin for hybrid bump/jerk issue

I was referring to the 12 volt battery under the hood. just to the passenger side of the battery and under a black control box is a couple of connectors with wires leading down the driver side of the engine, one with some larger wires in it, maybe 3 or so. Disconnect both of these connectors and...

No need to disconnect either battery, just the connectors, with the engine off of course.

Service bulletin for hybrid bump/jerk issue

Sorry the truck is not nearby right now but you do not have to remove the battery. The two connectors are below the box just down and to the right (looking from drivers seat) of the battery. Only connectors in the area, the ones with the slightly larger wires is the one.

Considering a Hybrid. Am I crazy?

I've a 09 Yukon Hybrid at 200,000 plus miles and a 13 Yukon Denali Hybrid at 113,000 miles. Changed the battery on the 09 at 190,000 using a new GM battery. No other hybrid issues on either other than a lurch issue on the 09 that ended up being a bad wiring connector to the aux trans pump. I'd...

Service bulletin for hybrid bump/jerk issue

On my 09, I found the fix to be unplugging the trans pump/trans pump module connectors just under the battery and replugging them in. The high current overheats one of the pins and causes a bad connection. Did this a few times over 15,000 miles until I cleaned the connectors real good and didn't...
