Doesn't look stock. Have you tested to see if it's dead, constant hot, or acc? Looks like something attached to an aftermarket accessory to me. Maybe an alarm or similar.
I have and love DDM's slim ballast kit in my Tahoe (low's only, went with silverstar ultra's for hi's), but I have had nothing but problems with them in smaller cars, presumably because of lower available power to the HID's.
I would suggest that EVERYBODY installing the HID kits from DDM to...
Not the amount of time it takes that would concern me...
Couldn't you get all this functionality with a $30 window mount for your iPhone and a $3 male-to-male 1/8" stereo cable?
The mic looks pretty good. Clean install. You'll have to let us know how the picture looks on those monitors.
The PAC might be a little overkill. Not sure what you'd need 6 video outputs for, but I'm sure it'll get the job done.
GO DUCKS!
Bummer, I'm sure we could have figured out a way to make 'em work. Oh well. Makes sense though, this stuff isn't cheap. (That's why I'm still rocking my p3100dvd I paid $400 for 2 years ago....)
Looks good. Nice work. Feels good saving yourself a few hundred bucks by not having to pay an install shop, eh?
I'm curious to hear how well the mic works when blocked by the RV mirror. Mine is at the top of the A-pillar and I have enough problems with it.
Do you know specifically why the...
A quick search on GMpartsdirect.com shows them available for between $60 and $80 each. But with labor $300 sounds close for a dealer quote.
My guess is the install can't be too bad, might be worth doing yourself.
FYI, on gmpartsdirect it's Electrical > Body Electrical > Front Door > Lock Actuator
Very nice. I'm with you though, as nice as it would be for my passengers to have the bucket seats, I drive to football games with 5 people and really need the cargo area for gear, so the bench was a must.
Besides, I get my bucket seat up front!
If you have a voltmeter you should check to see if the harness is actually providing power to the ballast on the driver side. That should tell you at least how far up or down the power supply line the issue lies.
As a side note, I have a similar issue on the passenger side on my girlfriend's...
Only thing I can think of is your door lock actuators have failed or are failing.
Doesn't explain why your remote start isn't working though. Did this all happen at the same time or has it slowly gotten worse over time?
I've had Viper systems on all my previous vehicles (except my '95 Taurus... alarm would've been worth more than the car) and I love them.
Not sure I would attempt to put it in myself though. The systems with the 2-way remotes are really nice, I loved being able to look down at my key fob in the...
I swear that's all this guy ever says...
Do they not lock just when you're using you key fob or can you not lock/unlock from the buttons on the armrest either?
Even for $35k doesn't seem like a bad deal. Obviously $30-32 would be better, but you're not getting swindled if you pay $34-35.
Nav, moon, 3rd row, and only 31k miles. Looks good to me. Just make sure to get the Car Fox.
My guess is no, but there is some room to play with between a standard double din nav unit and the fascia plastic, so the only way to know would be a test fit.
Also, judging by the size of that monster, you'll need to cut out the plastic pieces in the back of the head unit cavity.
I have a set from Vizualogic and they're just ok. Install was fine, but the build quality isn't great and the picture isn't that impressive, granted they're pushing 5 years old now. From what I remember, at the time the Vizualogic set was the best match for my light cashmere interior.
There...
x2.
Also, I didn't want to mess with the headliner. Headrest install seemed easier, and both headrests can play a different DVD/video feed from head unit.
You can definitely do it. But if you are going through the trouble and you already have an decent aftermarket stereo you may as well swap them out.
The only reason to keep the stock is for the Nav or the look really.
Depending on the brand of the unit you have from your last truck there are...
