I put that 917-107 clamp on. I need to get a new gasket to see if it actually helps. Pretty neat item!
Will headers or y pipes that fit 5.3/6.0s also fit the 6.2 or are they different?
anyone know of some decently priced headers/ypipe/exhaust type setup? longtube or shorties. not looking for a huge perf increase, think I need cats. I'd be ok with a y-pipe that bolts up to the factory location as well (with no cats, or high flow?).
thank you. the 917-107 seems like what I would need(pretty neat too!), but does not show it as fitting the 6.2 for 2007.
does not seem to be leaking from the broken bolt location however (pass side front bolt).
Put new plugs in today. It was wayyyy over sure. Average gap on them was .080"! Pass rear plug was a little difficult to get at, but removing the wheel well liner made it pretty easy.
Found it has a broken exh manifold stud (front one) on driver's side.... Bummer!
Next up is driver side abs...
replaced my pcv clean/dirty lines. seems to have helped with my idle issues (would hang a little when driving). they were cracked pretty bad and leaking a lot of air.
I've been playing with it some. But there is a lot of stuff, and I don't know all of the acronyms etc haha. I've gotten some of it down. But there's quite a bit more I need to learn.
Best tuner that I can use on the truck? I'd like to eventually get a tune for it, but for now just so I can bump...
both my 'fresh air' pcv valve hose, and my 'dirty air' pcv valve hoses are cracked etc. The dirty air one i can actually hear sucking/blowing air, if I fiddle with it it stops. I seem to be able to find the 'clean air' pcv one pretty easily online.
The dirty air one I am struggling to get a...
Replaced the valley pan and vlom orings(original ones were quite flat), intake manifold gasket, oil pressure sensor. Zero change with my oil pressure when hot at an idle.
Not sure what else is left other than trying a quart of lucas. Oil pump i guess. Doesn't seem like it would be that to me...
I'm planning on replacing the swaybar/swaybar bolts. Right now theres nothing there at all lol, just the busted bolts. BTDT as well, I'm from up north. Love living down in the south, where my 16 year old vehicle with 170k miles isnt a rust bucket lol. I just took my exh manifold bolts out with a...
I got Alldata diy and from what I've seen in there that 1 large connector seem to be a suspension relay. the wire next to it is the one in my photos i've posted that looks melted. Thats probably why it doesnt have active air anymore.
Is the rear air/front air tied together? Or do they operate...
changed out exhaust manifold gasket, plug wires, valve cover to new style valve cover/gasket.
drove it about an hour today, lowest I saw oil pressure hit was about 13psi in gear/idling at about 550rpm. still see close 35-40 psi at about 1100 rpm cruising
going to do the intake...
about to replace my exh manifold gasket, as it has a leak. looks like oil from valve cover has been leaking on it. I'm seeing posts about replacing valve cover and not just new gaskets/orings. Not sure it applies to me though? Going to be doing exh man gasket along with valve cover gasket (or...
so if he is correct, it wont stall anymore. it didnt always do it without fail... so I need to drive it some to test it. It is not my daily, it will take some time before I can drive it long enough to test it.
that makes sense, I've seen conversion kits so assumed the springs were due to no ride control. I def have the light for service suspension(dont see any resistors in that harness at least). I've attached pictures to this post that you wanted to see. It seems to have had front/rear air...
I'll be replacing the oil pressure sensor for sure while I've got it apart! Thanks Geotrash!
I found that my rear shocks are blown(air shocks), and while I've been exploring in the engine bay found that the front shock electrical? connectors are no longer connected to the front shocks (up at...
Oh ok, well there goes that idea! Its at about 20psi idling in park when hot (about 600 rpms).
I'd rather get a tuner, as I will probably dabble with some mods on it after I get everything fixed (longtubes, cam, exhaust most likely).
Yessir, more aggressive camshafts pull less vacuum so they...
any chance that you know what hot idle in gear should be for this motor? I've read multiple different numbers. 550rpm seems low to me(verified with tech 2), but I'm also used to older engines (carb). Thanks!
Not sure how to check that, but its a 2007 yukon xl 6.2. So I dont believe it was. Should I change the sensor anyways or nah?
I have not had the intake manifold off. Is VLOM dod/afm related? I don't believe I have any of that stuff, or would I still have it? I had to google VLOM to be honest...
got the oil pickup tube oring changed. inspected inside the pan, nothing of note just some sludge etc. it seems to have improved driving pressure at temp, and slightly improved idle oil pressure. instead of 8-10 psi when hot in gear and idling, its at about 14-15psi hot/in gear/idling (about 550...
