07+ Brake upgrade on a 00-06 NBS, is it worth it?

Unless someone is using their vehicle outside the intended design limits then is there really a reason to upgrade? What's the point beside looking a bit different and costing more money? Is there any guarantee that a government vehicle inspector will not write me up, take away my license to...

Glitter in 6.2L oil ... please help

I'm not saying it is the cause but it looks like someone put cooling system sealer, stop leak in your oil. Small metal flakes are used in its formulation. Could be an incorrect diagnosis from previous owner or unscrupulous mechanic? Does it run rough? Burn oil? Loosing coolant? How do spark...

Need help with Tahoe shutting off?

I would first check with another battery that is known to be good no matter what condition you think yours is in. There maybe an internal battery fault. Does charging the battery with a charger off truck do anything to extend engine run time? If so I would highly suspect the alternator. A fully...

2008 Tahoe runs and then shuts off

Looks like an open circuit somewhere. The heat expands connections leaving a gap. My guess is you have a remote start bypass that has a loose connection. Does the truck have anything like that?

Oil pressure all over the place - SOLVED

I'm pretty much in agreement with most of what was said about the torque. I did a Google search below and many say extension length doesn't matter but torque wrench length does. That's how I learned it in my early shade tree years. Google: Yes, torque wrench extensions can affect the torque...

Oil pressure all over the place - SOLVED

Yes it was the sensor. It was broken at the epoxy seal where the black plastic meets the aluminum bottom. The two halves were spinning freely. I'm surprised I even had an intermittent signal. I must have broken it when I used a plain socket that caught it wrong and broke it. A good reason to buy...

Oil pressure all over the place - SOLVED

A google search shows the torque is around 22 pound feet. I noticed that Briggs and Stratton spark plugs that use a similar crush washer are 20 ft lbs. I would go with 20. According to sources, thread sealant is mandatory for no leaks. The sensor above has white sealant pre-applied from the...

07+ Brake upgrade on a 00-06 NBS, is it worth it?

For those with the hydroboost brake system I wouldn't do the conversion. You are already getting superior stopping power.

Almost forgot ..please make sure to start the sensor by hand. As you can see in the pic above..the lower part is aluminum. Threads could easily get cross threaded.

Done. Works great! About the same psi range as old sensor. I used a 1/2" short swivel and 6 inch extension with the Lisle socket which fits the sensor perfectly. I would say buy it because its easy to deform the aluminum housing during installation . Everything was done by feel. Took me 15 min...

Ok so you are saying that if I pull the electrical connector for the sensor it should peg to 80? That would be a temporary bandage just to get the dinging to stop.

I want to check the little screen filter under pressure sensor. How do I remove it? Screw it and pull out?

Not at all. Engine runs quiet and smooth. The video doesn't show the times it sweeps rapidly from 40 to zero. Its like the signal was cut.

Thanks for all that. Going to change oil and filter today. O-ring was replaced gonna say 7 years ago. The original wasn't flat but tube was a tad loose but only after removing two other bolts fastened to windage tray. I forgot to use loctite on reassembly. Whoever designed the tube with only one...

This is a great idea. Will try it. I have a VX diag VCX Nano. The cluster was totally redone with bulbs and steppers 8 years ago but that's how long the bulbs originally lasted it seemed. The bumps and such don't affect the pressure gauge reading. If i drop a gear or rev it a bit in neutral...

Yeah was leaning towards filter bypass screwy or bypass in pan I believe that is a real feature im not familiar with. Will change oil tomorrow and recheck. I have an extra oil pressure sensor bought years ago. I might have had same issue or just wanted a new one. Cant remember

Pin diagram needed for Z55 air compressor connector

Hello. Does anybody have the pinout description of this air ride compressor connector? I have a few rusted eroded pins as you can see that need replacement. I would rather repair the 2 pins than buy an expensive pigtail. Thanks much!
