Bought 04 Tahoe. Had different third brake light, removed it, how to go back to factory?

I'd look in the junkyard. I've seen several of these in my local one.

    04 tahoe z71..Grinding noise

I'd put all 4 tires up off the ground and see if I could isolate where the sound is coming from. While it's up, try turning the front driveshaft with your hands and see if you can hear any clunking when you do.

    Nerf Bars

I guess I should have asked this before but does anyone know how the Z71 nerf bars look on an LS model? I see there is molding around each of the connection bars so I'm wondering if it looks silly without that molding.

2003 Bose - Replaced headunit and have "feedback/hissing"

You have Alternator whine and is probably caused by a faulty ground somewhere in your wiring. I had the same problem in my wife's Yukon when I added a headphone jack into the XM wiring behind the glovebox. I thought I had a good ground but I ended up putting a line filter in and now it's...

    Console Sub?

I contacted Crutchfield about this yesterday. We have 2 options... One we can put under the middle console (if you have the one that attaches up to the dash) or one that goes under the second row of seats. The console option is over $600 and requires an amp. The under-seat one was more like...

02 Tahoe 5.3 multiple codes come and go, weak performance

I think Ron nailed it (as he seems to always do) but you should also look to see if your intake manifold gasket is leaking. It's a pretty easy fix and worth trying if you're not sure.

    Brakes get stuck

Did you grease the rods that bolt the caliper to the brace? They have little rubber boots on them but they can dry out. Also, have you seen any codes pop up?

    Catalytic Converter...

Good point. I'm going to try out that nut extractor that I ordered on Amazon and hope that does it. If it doesn't, my next option is a 9/16 socket. Thanks for the info!

    Catalytic Converter...

Thank you, Ron. It's raining here all day so I guess it'll have to wait until Thursday when it stops. :) Great ideas!

    Catalytic Converter...

I'm really hoping I can get those off without breaking them. I'm going to try at least. I've ordered a set of bolt/nut extractors. The strange thing about buying those is that most kits skip the 15mm. I don't get that. Every kit has a 14mm and 16mm but they skip right over it. The plan is...

    Catalytic Converter...

I am surely going to heat the next five up, but now I have to deal with this one that's stripped out. I really appreciate all the advice from you guys. Here's what I'm dealing with now.

    Catalytic Converter...

Well, that's what I probably did wrong. It as red, but not glowing red. I'll go by Home Depot tomorrow and pick one of those up. Thank you for the suggestion. Now that's is stripped though I guess I'll try to get some vice grips on it. Thankfully it's all easy to get to. I'm going to pull...

    Catalytic Converter...

Thank you M. I got it as red as I could. Those nuts weren't that rusty either so I don't know why a 15mm didn't fight tight on them. Maybe my Craftsmen sockets are larger than normal or something.

    Catalytic Converter...

Well, nut splitter it is. I just went out to try again. This time I got the nut glowing red... I put the socket on and it spun completely around and bolded it. Damn it...

    Catalytic Converter...

George, earlier I had read about heating that nut up with a propane torch so I bought one at Lowes a few hours ago. I got up there and heated one nut up until it was slightly glowing red and tried again and it will not move. I've been trying to be very careful but I can feel the corners of...

    Catalytic Converter...

I'm in the process of getting the old one off now. I've spent the last 3 days just hitting those nuts on the exhaust manifold with the recommended penetrating oil that Ron suggested. Today I'm working on getting them off. Holy crap they won't budge! They don't look all that rusted either. I...

    Heater core replacement.

LOL... Cars were so much easier to work on back then I bet.

    Catalytic Converter...

Great advice, thank you! I'm going to get it on stands this weekend and hit those nuts and bolts before and after work until those converters arrive. I also ordered all new bolts, nuts, and studs for the job. And because I don't want to do this again for a long time, I bought 3 new OEM O2...

Was installing that Flowmaster muffler a big deal? I'm looking for a youtube but haven't found any installs howtos yet. That either means I need to take it somewhere for welding or it's so easy that nobody would need to make a how-to for it.

    Catalytic Converter...

Ron, I love the advice yet again! I just finished putting 2 orders in and I'll start hitting those screws as you recommend by the weekend. I won't get the replacement converters until the next week so I've got time. Thanks again!

    Catalytic Converter...

Just when I think I'm at the end, something else happens. I started getting the P0430 error about a week ago. Engine seems to be running like a champ after I fix the oil pressure sensor. The engine doesn't sound funny or have any loss of power. I've changed out the downstream O2 sensor on...

    Heater core replacement.

I replaced mine about 6 weeks ago and that video (and much advice form this forum) got me through it. The guy did a great job in the process of showing how and what to do. I even sent him some money for beer through Google. I'm not a superhero like either of you guys because it took me about...

    Organizing fasteners

I love the organization! I do the same too! I pull out the clips, 7mm screws, 8mm screws, bulbs, fuses, electrical clip-ins, etc. I usually just separate them in sandwich bags and label them but I like what you're doing here. Thanks for the suggestion!
