Front Wheels Bouncing When hitting Large bump

    GPS Suction Mounts

This doesn't solve the problem right now, but someone had a beautiful idea for the Colorado / Canyon: 2023+ Colorado/Canyon Vent Mount

    Sunroof stuck open

I don't have a recommendation on the alignment of the sunroof, but I wanted to bring up a connected issue that I discovered in my old 2002 Tahoe. My wife had driven my truck to work one fall day when I had taken my back-up truck and for some reason opened the sunroof in the parking garage...

    07-14 Lowered 2WD Z71 Tahoe ????

I don’t think the OEM fender flares are available anymore but I can’t even see a way to search for a GMT900 Tahoe in Z71 trim on GM Parts Direct. However based on my own experience with Bushwacker fender flares on my 2010 Suburban, my opinion is that the fender flares really need a wheel & tire...

Highway driving - do you make constant corrections or can you relax?

if you’ve been having the alignment done at the dealership or tire shop maybe look for a well-rated custom shop that specializes in lifting & lowering suspensions and has their own alignment system. They may take a more active and dynamic assessment of the situation.

The tire shops always want to sell me a new spare,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

No socket was inside the tire … I asked!

The tire shops always want to sell me a new spare,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Yeah, I used to say that too until one day driving on a 40-mph road less than 1/4 mile from work and the TMPS alerts that I’m losing pressure. No place good to turn off so I drive it into the lot and deal with I after. I put on the spare (happy that the winch wasn’t seized) and take it to Les...

    Are Yukons/Tahoes reliable?

Newer GM engines (1/2 ton on 2010+) with Active Fuel Management (AFM) or Displacement on Demand (DOD) need to have their oil changed religiously with high quality oil (I prefer synthetic anyway) to reduce the risk of lifter failure. The best true solution to this is to have the engine modified...

    Are Yukons/Tahoes reliable?

I had a 1st Gen Nissan Pathfinder “hardbody” SE-V6 4-door so long ago I can’t even remember what year it was. When it started having engine trouble I bought my first full-size GM SUV and never moved away. Technically I’m on my 4th full-size GM SUV in almost 20 years, but really only on my 2nd...

Can't Remove Hitch Pin, Not Rusty

I’d also suggest looking into a rust converter to treat / coat the hitch after cutting the pin.

    17's on my Denali?

The other easy test is to see what your OEM spare tire is. My used 2009 LTZ 6.2L Tahoe 4x4 came with OEM 20” rims on the axels and a 17” full size spare (with the original tire by date). Swapping to 17” tires was my first change … replacing the 11 year old spare was too.

DOT Secretary Rolls Back All Emission Standards

I’ve also thought that the manufacturers were missing the mark on hybrid trucks. Trains and ships run high torque engines full time to electric motors. Why not a little 2L high torque diesel running the entire time the truck is in operation supplying electricity to all 4 wheels? This...

    2007-14 Tahoe/Yukon (SWB) cargo shade

Found on eBay (Dec 2024) I already have one (same color) and know others have mentioned wanting one. 07-14 GM CHEVY ESCALADE YUKON SUBURBAN TAHOE OEM BLACK REAR TONNEAU CARGO COVER I apologize for not having the link, but I’m on my phone and saw it in eBay app: use the phrase above to search...

no heated Windshield on a $90k SUV?

This is the critical part I see. The defroster would be the solution if the wiper was high enough and the vents wide enough to be released from the windshield by the hot air from the vents. Even better if the heat kept the slush the wiper pushes down from freezing, but that has been an issue...

$18K Repair on 2010 Burb? Yup, it made sense.

Makes me hope I can save up enough to have my 2010 2500 turned into a Duraburb if / when it gets to that point.

Has anybody found a decent portable compressor/inflator?

I’d also consider an on-board in the engine compartment but it would best go where my second battery is. I have to admit for the couple of years my wife had her 06 Envoy Denali, that feature made me keep asking myself why GM didn’t put it into the bigger trucks.

    Extend range on key FOB

No need to reply but I’ll also assume the obvious that reprogramming and a new battery didn’t help. My next thought is also outside radio interference. When I went to school at Seattle University my fob wouldn’t work from more than about an arm’s length from the driver’s door / hood. Worked...

    2009 Yukon Denali worth

I was lead to believe the VVT and cylinder deactivation / AFM were both introduced in 2010. Did all 2009 GM 6.2l engines have VVT or was that specific to GMC (& I assume Cadillac)?

    Automatic headlights - Sensor adjustment?

I agree. Even if the sensor is functioning, it might be possible that it slid out of the mount bubble and is just far enough down that it can sense light, but only if very direct. If you can easily get to it there may be value just seeing if it’s loose or low.

2011 Tahoe after Market air conditioning filter

I didn’t sand them down as much as smoothed them out. I felt the new “door” sealed it enough that it didn’t have to be perfect. I used the filter I got with the kit and GM filters. It is an awkward bend to insert but fine.

AC cold, but fan stopped. Separate fuse?

Was using the AC just fine today, but made a stop and when I got back to the truck and started it up I couldn’t feel anything from the vent. As I started driving I could feel cold air being pushed through “ram jet”-style and the rear AC feels cold. Does the fan have it’s own fuse or is this...
