Is the 6.2 an aluminum block?
I say 2500 as well, and for the same reasons listed above... My sequoia towed my camper OK. I felt like it was revving high, but I don't feel it was maxed out. That said the burb 2500 is so much more stable and at home towing. The ride is pretty atrocious but...
Oh I've never sold anything that has been broken. If I were to sell it, I'd get the TC fixed and at that point, what I knew was wrong has been resolved.....so I can do so with a clear conscience.
That said, anyone like youtube? This ole square body enclosed ramp truck is a beaut but their...
Yeah thats nuts...putting a retiree and mrs. retirees behind the wheel of a 100gal of fuel hauling 50' 10 ton missle? Yeah you should have some extra testing and requirements for that.
So my mechanic called me yesterday and my torque converter is toast. $950 bucks total...which of course isn't bad. However that is one thing that needs to be fixed out of several. But hey, its not a motor - yet.
I've asked him to get me some prices on changing the upper ball joints, the oil...
Following....need this as well on my burb. 350 in parts alone, or I can take it to my trim shop and they will do it all for 350....no brainer. But if this ends up being decent quality, and by chance; cheaper.....then I'm in.
I've not sat back there. I figured/assumed with the captains chairs in the 2nd row, it would be easy enough to access. I will likely pull them and store them too....just havent as of yet. I only have one kid, so I dont need em either.
I dont think anyone can complain about button push seats :)
Really? After I understood what I was doing wrong, I think the GM seats were pretty decent. The ability to keep the third row locked in the 'up' position was sweet. That was something my sequoia couldnt do.
I'll ask a dumb question. Have you re-greased your intermediate steering shaft?
I ask because when I got my suburban I SWORE I had a bad PS pump. Turned out it was the intermediate shaft. Jam the grease gun up there, fill it up, and then pull off the rubber boot at the firewall and grease that...
Called my dealer looking to get a new sending unit and screen..... But they say it doesn't have a screen. Kind of contrary to what I've seen here and in YouTube. Is there any truth to it?
I like the KN HP-2011 as well. The well that the filter goes in, while convenient, if the filter gets tight its a PITA to get off. few bucks more, but with supertech synthetic oil, youre looking at a ~35 dollar oil change. So, not breaking the bank.
I would say, either are fine if you plan on toting the kids around, and thats it. The ford 5.4 has issues with breaking spark plugs. That's just bad news if you're terrified of breaking a spark plug doing simple tune up/maintenance work. :(
Do you want to do more with the truck? Pull a boat...
You wanna see some PITA, check out a mitsubishi montero, early/mid 2000s. OMG brakes and hubs are next to impossible. You're definitely going to lose and/or break something.
Rock auto has timkins for ~200...that said, I've been having good luck with the mevotech stuff, and it seems to be pretty highly respected.... those are 113, fronts, right now on RA.
I definitely appreciate the de-badged look. More respect as a sleeper.
Now, when I was looking at the 8.1L burb, I can't say I didnt start looking for 8.1/496 badges :D
So a few around here have been seeing my sporadic posts about my potentially problematic suburban 2500. My 6.0L has about 145k on it. I have seemingly always had lifter noise while in my possession but recently a thunking knock came about. I feel like that is a loose or broken exhaust stay since...
