Based on age I would say it's air ride, passive magnaride. So it's not a real magnaride shock, but has the electronics at the top to fool the system. Now Arnott makes a real magnaride air shock replacement.
Looks like 5.3L engines had the option, identified by a yellow gas cap in 2015 Tahoes and Yukons. Looks like 6.2L did not have the option for flexfuel.
Let's be clear, your generation magnarides last longer than the 2015-2020 yrs. I had a 2008 Escalade before the Denali. Most 2015-2020 owners aren't getting over 50k on their magnarides which says alot why people don't want to cough up $1500+ just to have another GM part fail again. 3 yrs ago...
I have the same thing on my 2015 Yukon, but I have 20" wheels. I attributed it to the Bridgestone tires being towards the end of their life, which are about 10k miles from being replaced.
It does require disconnecting the transmission lines. Fluid loss is minimal. If the condenser is empty of freon it will be relatively painless. You don't have to take off the front bumper, but the radiator needs to be loose to shove it out of the way to get the condenser out.

You have to lay down under the vehicle. The module is a black box on a bracket behind the front bumper cover.

Expect $10-12k in PDR fix plus replace the chrome trim that is damaged. It all can be fixed. Some dealers even use PDR shops to fix their hail dented cars after insurance has paid out.
The ZL1 converter a decent option compared to Circle D and the others? I was looking at the Circle D 300mm and was trying to justify why it's so much more than the ZL1. Thoughts?
Wow! If you have the ability to pull the heads get them to a machine shop, you can have them rebuilt. Get yourself a good cam and do an AFM delete. You won't have near $6K into it. Do a search on here as there are several posts about people who have had the same issue and replaced the problem...
