@Marky Dissod i would say that 1/3 of the trip was going uphill, 1/3 was going downhill, and 1/3 was flat ground.
On the way back I just left it in 3rd because I would climb a hill and wanted the acceleration or descend a hill and wanted to engine brake. I did a lot of engine braking on the...
A little disappointed in myself. Went on vacation this weekend 1.5 hours through the mountains to the Humboldt beaches. Tahoe performed amazingly throughout the journey, was on 3rd gear most of the time climbing or descending steep incline hill action at 60mph. Confident in saying I was working...
@Gildan I would try the same test and try grabbing it at the 6oclock this time, I wonder if the tires touching the ground causes the lower balljoints to be more pronounced VS when you have the control arms on jack stands.
But it also sounds like you have more than one problem happening at the...
@NickDeezy When my motor needed fixing I tried to go that route with a gen3 but through research I came to conclusion that it wasn't worth the effort. A gen4 5.3 shouldn't be that too hard to find
@Callaway I would start looking into adding air bags like that other person mentioned in another thread to you, even if you do go with another spring air bags might be recommended regardless of which spring you use
@Callaway Very interesting I haven't seen this one yet, there are some obvious solutions but it seems like you shouldn't be having this problem in the first place
@IamSpartacus4x4 If the kit you bought comes with spacers to achieve lift you will just mount the spacer to the top of the bilstein strut.
Same for the rear, the kit should come with shock extension brackets
If they skipped the ECU tune with a mechanical delete it would not run correctly. Very surprising there is no code, are you sure there are no codes or historical codes?
Also here is an official report from CARB outlining that an AFM delete doesn’t affect emissions.

I am not the first to do this nor will I be the last, here is an entire thread about successful California Smog with AFM delete.
https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/afm-delete-and-california-smog.143188/
@Shackman7878 You can pass smog with an AFM delete, I just did mine again recently. I would be more curious about the motor swap than anything but from my experience as long as it looks like it belongs and there are no check engine lights and the emission monitors are set you should pass with a...
Yea if you have another vehicle that you can drive if this one goes down keep on driving it until you have a reason to rebuild it.
No sense in rebuilding it now, it could go for another 200k if you take care of it.
Someone wrote that Chevys run like garbage.. but they will keep running like...
That thing above the oil filter is sopping wet, that's the oil cooler block off plate like others have said. I would suggest looking and making sure that isn't the cause of the leak.
Also.. what in the world is this thing? Are my eyes deceiving me or is this a sponge that someone put in place...
