I didn’t see it mentioned but do you have a cooler in the radiator tank? That is also a potential source of coolant/oil chocolate shake mixture that you have.
The L8P engine has arrived, time to finalize the list before teardown begins. @NickTransmissions I am looking at installing the 10 speed trans but also want to build the 6 sp for another project. I will be in Vegas next week so I would like to talk about getting you the unit to work on, thanks!
I used the full Belltech lowering kit that contained the drop spindles, springs, shocks and the other hardware to perform the swap. At the same time I installed the factory Brembo 6 piston front calipers and rotors along with the ‘21+ factory ppv 20” steel wheels. With almost 26k miles are her...
You really grabbed my attention here as I am keeping her for awhile. I like the thought of the 10sp as it will be a better combo. After some brief searching , I am looking into ECM compatibilities with the 2018 ppv as I have not changed my cluster (not going to do that), I have not changed my...
Yes, 5.3L with 6L80e. For this build and reference information to anyone else who reads this the trans will be completely overhauled. I was planning on using a Circle D convertor but they never respond to me so I will spend my money somewhere else. I am also upgrading the driveshaft and rear...
Yes they do. I installed the 6 piston Brembo and the 21+ 20's on mine 2 years ago and installed a 3"-4" drop. They look good to me and the braking is awesome "on the track".
I am not towing as this is more of a play time project. The L8P order is presently sitting at approximately 2 weeks. I am trying to find a good quality convertor to use that has an order lead time of less than 6 weeks. More updates to come as the parts become available.
Getting close to installing the crate L8P in place of the AFM/DOD dying 5.3L. I noticed on this forum several L8T swaps but no L8P swaps. Any reason I should be aware of? I am not looking for a tow truck replacement engine so I am not worried about the larger cam pushing the power higher up the...
So are you saying that the misfire code came back with the new engine and the injectors were the problem?! I’m glad you got the new engine but it makes me think that the injectors were the problem the entire time. JMO
Don't forget Federal Signal as that is the push bar system I have on my 2018. They make some great looking push bars for the newer Tahoe with headlight and TVI lower bars.
For reference only based on my 2018 PPV Tahoe, here is what I have on my Tahoe seating arrangement as the different seating changes the carpet information, the following is only correct for the 40/20/40 front seats without console and no third row seating. Use your VIN and QR code (or glove box...
I installed the PPV 6 piston Brembo front brakes and installed the Belltech 2"/4" drop at the same time. Before and after pictures below but unfortunately I did not see the sun shadow so the before picture is hard to see how high the rear was sitting. Much better stance, ride and braking now.
Let me pull up my receipts from GM and I will post up the part numbers and general cost. Your pricing might be different as I have an account for my shop.
That is a nice looking roof rack! Thanks for the pictures as I have pulled many headliners but not with ac routed through it so this one will be less fun.
What dimensions are you looking for? I have a 2018 PPV that I just did most of the interior in it (no headliner work yet). Be advised that you might need to source seatbelts if no seats where installed, especially the third row seatbelts.
So I decided to gut the interior this weekend. I was able to find all the upfitter remnants and remove them along with finding all the oem harnesses so I can connect the lighting I want to install along with add the trailer brake control. Turned out to be a bigger job than I thought as it took...
