I'll give that a shot too next time I fill up. When I put my cat back on the new pipe touches the rear crossmember after the muffler. I wondered if that may be what is causing it so I sandwiched a spare rubber hanger in there and now have to take another reading.
Possibly....I hadn't even considered that. I need to find the time to get it back out and check the retard again with that rubber I shoved in to dampen the exhaust pipe and to from there
Then I gotta start looking at 4.10's lol
I know the thread has moved onto gears and other things so I have been wondering....is it worth switching out my 3.73's for 4.10's if I'm running 35" tires? I'm not trying to race anybody, I just want to be able to keep up with highway traffic and get up to speed in a reasonable time. Also tow a...
Ok guys sorry I dropped off the thread, I've been in FLA on vacation and just got back a couple days ago.
I was finally able to get this but I doubt it will help. My scan tool isn't the greatest but it's better than not having one at all. I grabbed my knock retard. It's 101 seconds long from a...
Lol tell me about it....yes everything else works as it should. Sometimes the temp doesn't go up or down with the knob and I have to spin it a couple times but this doesn't happen often.
Okay so after replacing my compressor, accumulator, orfice tube, evaporator core, low pressure sensor, many seals and blocking off and essentially eliminating my rear AC I finally got the system charged and my high and low manifold gauges reading around where they should be (around 50 on the low...
I can graph it Mike so I will take it for another ride later and record the graph. Also mine slowly tapers off back to zero as well. The retard and timing also seems to be a little bit delayed from when I get on the throttle if that makes any sense.
I have a No name aftermarket intake, Amazon...
So I finally had a chance to mess with it and found the knock retard in my scan tool. It fluctuates between 0 and 6ish degrees when I really get on the gas. I have a Super 44 muffler so it can get loud sometimes but the change in retard didn't seem to coincide with when I was getting on the gas...
Yes it's 4WD. Yeah I was just going to remove the wheel and fender liner and do it that way but yeah everything is harder on a 4WD. I have to do my oil pan gasket and that will be hell between it being 4WD and the lift kit .
Yeah that's what I was thinking I would probably have to do. I watched a YouTube video where one looked identical to the aone being replaced but the hole for the pressure sensor was deeper so I don't want to end up in a crapshoot.
I'm not sure if this is the right sub forum but I have an 03 Tahoe Z71 flex, I know there are a couple different AC compressors. Is there a way to tell which one I need to order without pulling it out of the truck first? I am hoping to not have to take it out until I have the replacement to put...
Yeah the way I look at it is I would never get anywhere close to what I feel its worth to me after the amount of money and time I put into it so why bother getting rid of it?
It is what it is... I have so much money in this truck now between fixing it up and aftermarket stuff I will probably keep it going forever or until the wheels fall off.... actually even then I would probably just fix it
Yeah it's the black one....however when I went out to my truck a bit ago and turned on the AC I heard a loud noise so I instantly turned it off and right afterwards I could smell the freon outside of the truck and now there is a big puddle of AC oil underneath the compressor on the ground. All...
Interesting
Interesting I haven't done that but I'm not sure about the kid I bought it from. How can I tell if that's been done? The numbering on the ECU or simply the color of it?
I swapped out the AC breaker with the high beam breaker but to no avail. I removed the breaker and jumped 87 and 30 and it turns on. The snowflake light on my climate controls is on solid and not flashing.
So I've been dealing with this air conditioning issue for a while now. Started trying to trace a leak which I seem to have gotten. I replaced a ton of seals, the accumulator, the high and low valves, compressor clutch switch that's on the side of the accumulator,
evaporator core, orifice tube...
Stupid question...and I know it might not be the same on all scanners but if I want to check if the knock sensors are retarding my timing or try to replicate this in real time as you said, what would the function or data stream more than likely be called in the scanner? Knock sensors, timing...
Thank you I will definitely do that. I will also have to look on my scanner and see what I can see. I won't be back until tomorrow night but I'll dive into it as soon as I get home.
Interesting.... I feel like it has probably definitely gotten worse since the exhaust but I didn't know if that was because it went from hollowed cats to actual cats. Then again I don't see how that alone would make it so doggish. I know my exhaust touches the frame in the back but with that...
