Thanks Jim it’s been good to me it deserves life lol.

NorCal Tony did good with his recommendation on endlinks. They fit nice and tight, and should last a few years. I still hate this design, I feel like there could be something better out there but it’s so cheap and easy to do if I gotta buy new ones every 5 years it is what it is. Kryptonite is...

Haven’t touched the bumper still mad at myself about it and just hardly drive at all any more. Like maybe one tank of a gas a month out of all my vehicles it’s sweet. Anyway been chasing a worsening squeak noise and so I pulled wheels and tires for some inspecting. Here’s what I found. -Upper...

I messed up and this might total it…… Didn’t seat my trailer on the ball all the way as I was in a rush to go get my wife’s valentines gift after work (it’s a new/used washer and drier). Half a mile down the road I hit a rough spot and that mofo jumped off and smashed into my bumper. Thank god...

    Manual swap gmt800

Good to know, being an aluminum case I’m sure it’s a bit lighter than the cast iron nv4500 too. Would be a fantastic option for a 4x4 with those gear splits. I’ve been eyeing a K5 build for awhile and it would work well in that.

    Manual swap gmt800

You got any experience with a tr4050? Sounds like a dream, but not much data out there that I see. It would have to shift really really good to beat a nv4500.

    Manual swap gmt800

You can do it with all OEM parts from the gmt800 silverados. Great upgrade as 4l60s aren’t great and 4l80s have bad gearing. Be warned, it will make all the ladies flock to your whip dawggg.

I vaguely remember reading about the stretch belts when I had my supercharged stick Silverado. The blower and the manual transmission shifts were super violent and it would shoot belts off. Went 8 rib and an innovators west kit for the serpentine belt but then the AC belts started flying off. No...

Didn't know you could do that, very interesting.

Turns out his tensioner crapped out. He put a new one on and a new belt and has been good for two days. So yayyy!

I like to add a tad, I always figure a bit more won’t hurt and so I really trust the factory?

The old one did, we replaced it, the drier and the orfice tube. Pressures were great and air was cold. Key word “were”

Yes but that requires work and more whiter is more brighter Well it might not have worked completely. Buddy said he heard a knocking sound and the AC belt shredded. I didn’t look at the belt or install it so maybe he screwed it up or it was old but I’m thinking more junk clogged the new orfice...

Filters are good. Totally unrelated but I did make some new house garage progress. These hexagon lights are fantastic for the price! $100 for those. The tote storage workbench trend is hot and I see why, it’s very easy to build and works great.

I I need to get a compressor at the new house so I could have at least hit it with shop air. But alas we shall see how it goes. The truck is a total POS imo, it’s got a long list of stuff that needs doing and I’d be shocked if he kept it another two years.

    99-06 E fans for sale $40!

For sale! E fans off my old 2005 RCSB Silverado it had under 140k. Sold the truck as a roller and had these laying around, they work fine I tested them in my Tahoe. I don’t want to ship them but I’m located in central Florida 32778 and for a member I’ll give them to you for an easy $40. But I...

Idk, I was very hesitant to slap a new drier, tube, and compressor on without flushing the system or doing the condenser and evap as well. But we did cause hes poor and I didn’t feel like fronting more money. Pressures are great and it blows cold as can be!

Yeah I wasn’t about to try to spell that. For the other rednecks out there it’s the stuff in that forbidden dessert packet mixed into bags of beef jerky. Never imagined one would come apart and clog a system like that. What do you think caused it?

This is gmt800 related, check out this orfice tube! I’m guessing that’s the stuff inside the drier?

Hard to do for the driver, the steering wheel is fairly close to my stomach and I’m relatively thin. More likely that I’d smash it into my vital organs and I’d die in place. The passenger could easily fall out tho! Even when they have a passenger seat it sits up so high it’s more likely...

Barefoot fabrication continues, very happy how this has come out but I’m not done. One day when I finally buy a tube bender I’ll make a slim single tube bumper to wrap around and protect the rear quarter panels. Also I foolishly decided I’d drive it (still no brakes) to the mower shop a mile...

What to do with old gas?

You gotta dump gas then dump lit matches, problem solved . Real talk tho there’s some vines down here called smilax. Almost nothing kills them, you have to dig all of their potato like roots up to get rid of them. Leave even a small piece and they come back. Been playing street chemist and...

Got that Yukon done and wow it’s amazing how easy these things are to work on compared to fords. I did full AC rebuild, all steering arms, front brakes, both belts and tensioners, and adjusted the hood latch in about 10 man hours across two days. All while barefoot
