I got one last week as well. Ok, actually my wife took it to get a new inspection sticker since l simply don't have the time to go between going to school and work all damn day. But she took it to the shop we usually go to, because the guy there used to be a "friend with benefits" with my wife's...
In the 13 years I have owned my Suburban, I have removed that shroud at least a dozen times and had zero problems. Just make sure all the tabs are lined up properly when you pop it back in.
Good Lord that damn drive shaft has a lot of play in it! I honestly can't say for sure if it's the pinion bearings or not, because my pinion bearings went bad and it sounded nearly identical. But if I were you, I would go ahead and replace the U-joints, and grease the hell out of the slip yoke...
Worked on it a little more this afternoon when I got home. Finished getting the rest of the mangled parts of the front, and I repainted the AC condenser. Still gathering parts too, need to getga hood and drivets side fender, but I have a HD hood lined up. Thank God the AC condenser wasn't...
I thought about putting one of those in mine, but it's useless unless you remove that rear corner fender brace. I did just end up leaving mine off, and when/if I need to access the fan relays or fuses, it's just as easy to just pop the whole entire shroud off. But then again, leaving that...
I was in an accident a few days ago. A young lady locked up her brakes on me in the pouring rain and I couldn't stop the Burban as fast as she did, so I ran into the back of her. It did a good amount of damage for such a light hit. Busted my bumper, grill, hood, lights, and fucked up the...
How many cans did you go through? I ordered two cans so far. I will have to paint my front bumper, bumper cap, and an HD hood that I'm purchasing from @dszx13
I'm sure that I will be ordering more, just don't have an idea of how much I will go through yet. Oh, I still have a set of fender...
Ordered my new bumper the other day.
And then today my new transmission fluid cooler and factory match paint, and a few other things all came in from Rockauto. Hopefully I can get my truck back on the road soon, it's pissing me off sharing my wife's Jeep.
I just ordered some of that Spraymax clear, and the Dupli-Color factory touch up paint so I can paint the parts I need to replace since my luttli wreck last week. I've never used it before, so I hope it comes out looking good. I need to paint a bumper, bumper cap, a fender, and a hood.
I removed mine and installed a small billet grill over the slots to match my upper billet grill. The holes do go all the way through the bumper, so you will get more air flow but not much.
Well shit. I just got home and started inspecting the damage and it's a lot worse than I thought. :( The actual core support is pushed back about 2 inches. That also has the driver's side fender pushed back 2 inches as well. It's rubbing on the driver's door, and it's bowed out along the top...
The lady I hit didn't have any passengers, and she said she wasn't hurt, so I guess that's a plus. And she did admit to the police officer that she slammed on her brakes really fast, because the car in front of her stopped really quick. I guess I should have given myself more room to stop being...
No, the airbags didn't deploy. I didn't have time to inspect it any further, but as far as I know, the transmission cooler and lines are busted, I won't know more until I get the grill and bumper off. I hope the AC condenser isn't damaged. I actually already have a 2500HD grill and bumper cap...
