    Help diagnose oil leak

I don't go to a mechanic often but these prices seem reasonable. Especially if it's a shop you trust. Did he say these are definitely all the leaks or fix these and recheck?

[SOLVED] Brakes squishy after brake upgrade

It was the cheapo basic one that came with the kit. I ordered an upgraded one off Amazon that I was able to rig up to use with the Motive kit. I'm going to order the aluminum one eventually but didn't have time to wait. Brakes feel great after eventually bleeding them. Big fan of the Bosch...

    Power Steering Pain

The steering is definitely much easier with the new rack installed to the point that it feels a little loose. But that could be my mind playing trucks on me compared to the old rack. I changed all the hoses and drained the pump so I'm a little worried I might have some air trapped in the system...

    Power Steering Pain

Did you vacuum bleed the system after the install or just turned the wheels back and forth to the stops burping out air? I just installed a new rack and lines and I just burped it turning the wheels back and forth with the ps pump cap off. So far everything great l, no leaks or noises but the...

[SOLVED] Brakes squishy after brake upgrade

I tried using the Motive last night on the Yukon and when I got up to about 15lbs the cap exploded and cracked off of the master cylinder. How many pounds is everyone using with this?

Power Steering Pump - '08 Tahoe

Just swapped out my rack on the Yukon with a Detroit axle. I know that's the cheapo rack but I figured give it a try and It came with new tie rod ends also. Haven't driven it yet but hopefully it feels good. Gonna look into rebuilding the factory rack later on.

Need opinion — upcoming road trip

I would be concerned about items that could disable the truck from driving. Heater hose tee's would be my biggest worry. They'll look find from the outside but out of nowhere will just explode in half. If the radiator is original it's probably almost ready to split at the tank seams.Check and...

Thanks for the replies. I didnt think it mattered but it's definitely easier when doing it on the street and only needing one wheel off at a time.

    Brake bleed question

Quick question for everyone regarding all cars. If doing new brakes and rotors on all wheels with a fluid flush is it ok to bleed each wheel as you complete the install or should I install all parts on all wheels first then do the bleed process? I'll be using s motive pressure bleeder.

[SOLVED] Need help identifying oil leak when the car is on

It leaked because you didn't use the alingment tool with the oil pan simulator at the same time. That's what the flat plate in the kit is for. I've only done it once but I did it with the oil pan off and used the alingment kit. No leaks. On a side note I guess you're using an ARP bolt on the...

[SOLVED] Need help identifying oil leak when the car is on

If you didn't use the alingment tool on the front or rear seal then most likely that's your problem. Some people get lucky without the tool and no leaks and some don't. I've used the tool on both to be sure its correct and no leaks for me. Losing 5 quarts in a day is insane!

(Partially solved, DOD delete is completed) Need help. DOD delete went south…

I say fix it. Should be easy enough to drill it out. It would mentally torture me if I knew that was in my motor even though mechanically it's probably fine.

Want to take my 2010 Yukon XL Denali with 180,000 miles for a family trip from Michigan To Florida

It's either the rear main, oil pan, oil pan block off plate or the vlom leaking down the back of the engine. All very common leaks and all seem too collect oil where the engine and trans meet so it's tricky trying to determine whats leaking. Best to be prepared to deal with them all. Here's how...
