    Intermittent AC - Temp Sensor?

Near as I can tell still cold and steady. The rear's always been a bit like an asthmatic running a marathon breathing through a straw, even after sealing the ducting, so there's not a ton of air coming out on a good day. When the front's not pulling it's load, it so hot in the back you have to...

    Intermittent AC - Temp Sensor?

Yessir, near as I can see, that's a true statement.

    Intermittent AC - Temp Sensor?

48 on the low side, 280-290 on the high side IIRC. High side's fuzzy because that was a couple weeks ago and I focus on the low side on this truck. The rubber flaps on either side of the radiator are long gone and I haven't found replacements, so at idle it starts recirculating the hot air and...

    Intermittent AC - Temp Sensor?

Swathdiver, I can't afford a tech 2, LOL. What are my other options to verify? Are resistance values publically available where I could ohm it out? And when you say it's in the headliner, does that mean I have to drop that pig again? I dropped it a few years ago to fix the crummy rear ducting...

    Intermittent AC - Temp Sensor?

Howdy all. Got a problem I hope you can help with. My '07 Tahoe LT with 260k that I've owned for 7 years has decided just working like normal is boring and has decided to throw me a curve ball. The AC (I'm in Phoenix BTW) seems to be going in and out. Like it will blow ice cold for about 2...

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

Ok, so for anyone with experience with these devices, what functionality would I be losing with the WiFi stick over the full, traditional handheld device? At 1/2 the price, I gotta know... if the clunkiness of a laptop is all I gotta suffer through, sign me up :)

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

No, no. He charged $160 or $170 to flash it. The rest was the ECU and labor to install it. I remember pricing the ECU, evaluating the effort, and thinking he did me right. It was frustrating that I couldn't do it, but he was fair.

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

Oh I did, and they were fantastic suggestions. I guess I should give a more thorough update... The truck was due for emissions testing in August. It couldn't pass with the knock sensor. So I went elbow deep and tore the entire harness and ECU out. Inspected every square inch and found nothing...

    Gotta Have Better Motor Mounts????

LOL, but it's not! I mean I know how to drive like a horses arse, but I don't drive like that in thus truck. Heck I haven't driven like that in a decade. Call it the castration of marriage. My '88 Suburban with 400 hp and 415 ft-lbs of torque doesn't pull motor mounts under the hardest pedal I...

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

Well that ain't bad at all. I seem to remember a 4-digit price tag. $300 I can handle. Thank you again! :)

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

Barf. I mean I REALLY appreciate the heads up cuz I would have been PO'ed if I bought it THEN figured that out, but still barf. I guess it's just that time to bite the bullet on a tech 2. Hopefully they've come down in price since I last looked 6 years ago, but I won't get my hopes up... Thank...

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

Figured I'd post an update on this in case anyone is similarly struggling. It turned out it was, in fact, the ECU going out... at least for the knock sensor issue. $800 because I had to have a shop do it (guess you have to have a special reflashing tool?), but that problem has been no more...

    Gotta Have Better Motor Mounts????

Can ya'll verify this will work? I'm pretty confident, but I've been wrong before: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6437988&cc=1441263&jsn=865

    Gotta Have Better Motor Mounts????

So there is, LOL. I feel like a moron even more now :). OK, so 70 pages is rough, but a brief scans seems to indicate, as you do, that H3 motor mounts seem to be the magic bullet here. How in the hell the frame of a Trailblazer matches up to that of a Tahoe is one that will have me...

    Gotta Have Better Motor Mounts????

I can't make this crap up. I am currently on my 4th set of motor mounts in 40,000 miles on my '07 Tahoe with the 5.3 FFV. First set went out just before 200k. Went to turn hard (left) into my neighborhood on a Saturday, where openings are rare, and the engine just ripped loose from the...

    Camber Adjustment??

I feel like such a moron! I have been down under this monster dozens of times since then doing brakes, motor mounts, holy crap I even did the struts and swear to you I did not see those cams until after watching that video above. Son of a *****! I almost deserved this. Thank you for reminded...

    Camber Adjustment??

Howdy folks. I got me a problem. I'm hoping the experts here can help me. I am now preparing to purchase my 3rd set of tires prematurely on my 2007 Tahoe, 2WD, LT... bone stock as they get. The 1st $1200 set had to be replaced with 3/8" of tread left because the front right tire was showing...

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

I would still think battery cable issues would manifest in other systems, BUT I'll still go through and do some clean up. It's good practice if nothing else. The only reason i scratch my head a little is because I've had similar issues on two different BMW 540i's I've owned, but in both cases...

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

So help me understand 2 things: 1. How would the negative battery cable affect only certain systems at any given time? 2. What are the "big 3"?

Rampant Electrical Gremlins - Need Harnesses?

I figured I'd see if any of you have similar issues with the wiring harnesses and maybe solutions or sources to make them go away. I have an 07 Tahoe LT with about 230k on the clock. I replaced the engine about a year ago due to DOD issues. I figured at 200k it was easier to just do the whole...

    07 5.3 Knock Sensor Issue

Bone stock. No mods of any kind anywhere, not even cosmetic. If it was the temp sensor or MAF, would i see a fault code? It is holding temp just fine BTW

    07 5.3 Knock Sensor Issue

This has been going on for months with many hundreds of gallons of gas from several different stations. Arizona does not have 85 octane available anyway, so if that happened the delivery truck would be WAY of course :)

    07 5.3 Knock Sensor Issue

If it was actually an issue with detecting too much knock, would it really throw at "low voltage" code? I thought voltage went up with a knock detection. I very well could be wrong though

    07 5.3 Knock Sensor Issue

Swath, thank you for the diagnostic proceedure. I will have to give that a try. The code is P0332. I know the torque is right, but I hadn't thought of burrs or debrit on the flanges. I'll have to pull them back off and check the condition of the surface(s). I would think if the ECU was bad...
