Dreaded Effing lifter tap...... - SOLVED
So, after 120k miles of no AFM, 160,370 on the clock I got a lifter noise. The truck was in the body shop for 1.5 weeks and probably got started and moved 10 ft a dozen times......go and pick it up and it's ticking. The guy says " we see that sometimes, probably just need to drive it." Man...- B-train

Alternator whine - but its not the usual suspects....
Have you load tested the battery out of curiosity? Ohmed out the cables?- B-train

Baffling Oil Leak
Oil cooler adapter gasket possibly. Or, you have a rear main housing gasket that is compressed and leaking. The rear of the engine has a cover that holds the rear main seal, as well as provides a block off to the high pressure oil valleys in the block. The gasket material gets stiff, then weeps...- B-train

2023 yukon denali 6.2..what to do
I'm going to play devil's advocate and ask why you feel the need to do that on a new vehicle? OEM stuff usually lends rhe best driveability and longevity. It was tried, tested, and approved in a manner to get the most from it while delivering reliability. The only real way to improve on it...- B-train

What would you do? Truck Needs Engine?
Then @Nel2son spend another $500 with HP tuners (or find someone who has it) and go in and toggle off the AFM in the fuel section. Super easy to do if you end up going a route like this.- B-train

A couple of squirts of lube out of the boot.
Does it have a rip that you can see? I've never had that issue other than a small rip causing it. If it's not ripped, the clampis still tight, then I'd say run it. But, if there's a way for water to get in, you're just running on borrowed time in the long run. Axles are cheap and easy to...- B-train

2016/2017 Yukon Denali long term reliability
I currently have a 2008 Denali as my DD with 192k on the clock and love it. My wife drives a 2017 Denali 6.2L, 8 speed with 160k on the clock. 2001 Tahoe roof rust rot under roof rack
The rails come off pretty easy with a bunch of Allen bolts. If you live in a road salt area, then I'd address it with a light sand, prime, paint, and clear. Being on the roof it doesn't have to be perfect.......only semi drivers will be able to critique your rattle can skills. If you don't... -

Cheap eBay turbo kits…
It's not that easy. You'll probably have to find a cobalt ss ECM that has the pin out for a turbo. You need the ability for the ECM to see feedback on boost so it can adjust timing and fuel flow. Maybe I'm all wrong, but that's what I know/have talked to people who have done them.- B-train

22" Recommended Tire Pressure
Yes, otherwise any lower PSI and it looks/feels like there is no sidewall available. I've tried the 32 psi setting, but all it yielded was more rounding of edges and not much improved ride. 22 inch wheels just don't do it for me anymore. It's my wife's DD, that's why they are still on... -

That is bananas.....I can't believe those lines failed in 4 years, possibly 5. My suggestion to you would be to rust proof the heck out 9f the new ones with some fluid film. Keep The crp from getting into the rubber grommet holders -

Cracked Sun Roof?
I've off roaded my 2008 Denali all over the west on multiple back roads, washboard sections, etc and never once had an issue with the sunroof - never crossed my mind actually. Being that the roof is a pivotal structure safety area, I don't see how you would develop enough flex to crack... -

Tuning and dealership issues
Depending on the scenario, I can't see it as a problem. If it's only AFM shut off, they probably won't even notice. It's not everyday that computer updates need to be done. They look for codes, etc. One thing toggled off probably won't even show up.- B-train

I swapped wheels from another same year Tahoe, can I learn onboard?
Probably good to go. But, you could do the tire pressure/tire location procedure - not sure on that year off the top of my head, but that may help confirm it's all good.- B-train

I also live on the WI/IL border. Born and raised in IL, then skee-dattled at 20 years old to WI and never looked back. It's a good place to be FROM as @Fless said. I however worked in Chitcago for many years in field service. Done with that now and try to stay away from there. LOL- B-train

I currently run a 2008 6.2L Denali and I can tell you it loves a 25 - 30% blend of E85 and 87. You will get less MPG, but on par with normal 87 octane. Way less per fill up, channels the internal animal of the engine, and smells good. I can't justify premium to get just 1 more mpg. I'll enjoy...- B-train

That's a nice looking rig. I sold the identical year and color about 6 years ago. It was a rust free truck when I bought it down south in OK. I rust proofed the heck out of it and sold it as clean as I bought it at 227k. Funny thing is, I got a call from the WI DOT about odometer fraud...- B-train

Yikes.......not much will help you there. Good bathing in fluid film will help slow the decay down, but not much will fix it beyond lots of time and money. And, at that point, it'll only last a few years. I'd throw the money at a new-2-u replacement from rust free area. Even the same year... -
