About to order a 2022. Need advice from folks up north

Depending where you buy you can get #2 all year long, the truck stops here in Fargo for example have it all year. Stay away from the additives, some contain alcohol which can cause issues with certain components. Play it safe and get the blended fuel and you will be find.

About to order a 2022. Need advice from folks up north

I'm in Fargo ND, we get about 2 weeks a winter with sub 30F below, I fish Lake Winnipeg quite a bit were we hit a lot of minus 30F and minus 40F days. (all ambient temps, not windchills). I've been running ecoDiesels since 2015, they have all started. Buddy has had a couple of the DMax 3.0's...

2021 Denali DMax, 5k mile driving review comparing with ecoDiesel

Wife's Denali DMax is at 5k miles, figured I'd drop quick review post. For some context, her truck sits next to a Ram 1500 ecoDiesel which shares its parking spot with a 6.7 cummins, so we are diesel heavy. However this is her first diesel, she has been driving denali's / tahoe's / escalade's /...

Buy or Lease? 2022 Yukon Denali

Went through the same thought exercise, here is what I came up with, it has a few moving parts. 1) premium cost - if you were buying all cash no trade, then yup, you are stuck with very low discounts off msrp (the 2021 my wife bought was a 10% discount instead of the usual 2x% from GMC) -...

    Break in oil changes.

GM doesn't include a written spec (the maintenance algorithm could have it built in for all we know) in regard to an accelerated first oil change interval. GM's corporate stance is to listen to the 'in vehicle' oil monitor as long as it's once a year. At the end of the day, if people use oil /...

21 base Tahoe rear end squatting

Timbrens work great if the suspension is usually fine and you need a boost on the rare occasion. If you always need an increased carry capacity bags or new springs will probably serve you better. I have Timbrens in a 1500 Ram and they are the perfect mix for what I use the pickup for (it pulls...

Looks like we're in for higher gas prices in the foreseeable future. Does that make the Duramax an even better choice?

If fuel (gas and diesel) prices go up massively (like they did a few years ago). Vehicles that use alot of fuel with be camping on the dealership lots (just like they did a few years ago). When that happens the variants which are fuel efficient will sell better (like how the ecoDiesels did)...

    Build Times on 2021 Yukons

wife ordered at end of april, had it in 12 weeks, the gmc chat deal didn't really do much, basically no info then done in a day oh,,, when we ordered the dealer had line of sight as to what could be built and what couldn't, we adjusted the order so it could be built

    2021 Yukon Denali Any Regrets

The fact that we all know what America vs German luxury means settles this one for me, my expectation of an on par experience is flawed. I do believe GMC doesn't share that opinion as GMC repeatedly states that their products are at the top. In my mind that is comparing to other luxury...

    2021 Yukon Denali Any Regrets

Totally agree, which is where my original comments about being 'underwhelmed' in regards to the 'luxury' set of features which both the denali and the escalade are touting. In my head, if GM wants to play the luxury card they need to be at minimum on par with the other brands offering 3rd row...

    2021 Yukon Denali Any Regrets

Answers A) Yep, played with it, she really didn't like it, granted she has been in the caddy space for a bit and is pretty negative on the brand B) Yep, this is her 5th Denali, we are very familiar with GM's attempts in this space C) Yep, very familiar with the differences; I also build off-road...

    2021 Yukon Denali Any Regrets

She was in a 2019 escalade (her 3rd), she absolutely hated the interior controls and couldn't take it anymore. The escalade controls are not intuitive (operating rear climate / video as an example); every new person in the truck was confused and the pictures didn't make sense. She really didn't...

    2021 Yukon Denali Any Regrets

Every vehicle has its own impending doom scenario, you need to trust warranty or sell it. No sense worrying about a maybe. Personally, after being around the wife's 2021 denali I'm underwhelmed. I really like the baby diesel (way less noisy then the Ram's) and it is a large SUV. But in the...

how does gm's passive entry work?

Having come from BMW world, its a huge miss for me. In BMW world you can configure it off as well for those who would prefer to press the button explicitly.

how does gm's passive entry work?

That's interesting about the lock / unlocking when washing, I haven't experienced that yet. I am pretty surprised GM doesn't have this capability in 2021; but then again I've had 10 years to get used to it.

how does gm's passive entry work?

Wife's 2021 denali xl just arrived, when you have a fob in hand and approach the vehicle and operate a door handle it doesn't unlock the drivers (or any) door. You can press the button on the door handle and it will unlock the doors. Does the denali's have the ability to unlock the door when...

How about some gas mileage reports?

totally spot on above if you aren't hyper mile'ing (55mph or less, mileage tires, empty truck and a focus'd driver) you aren't getting 20's by the tank in a full sized v8 4x4 from GM in the diesel; totally different animal

    Who Bought Extended Warranty?

Extended warranty companies are profitable, which means on average customers pay more then the benefit they receive (obviously their are outliers). If someone isn't an enthusiast in regards to using a warranty don't buy one. If you have a thing about having the vehicle in the shop then get...

    Power running boards safety concerns

The powered boards don't like freezing weather and extreme cold (here in ND/MN they tend to make it about 3 winters). Yes to keeping the hinges happy.

    (Non) Patiently Waiting

I'm in the camp of going through GM's new truck order process for the first time (been through it with other manufacturers previously). All I can say is wow! It is beyond pathetic. Is it so bad that I would have ordered something else (unfortunately no, wife wanted a denali xl). But after...

Oil and coolant leak 21 Yukon Denali 7500 miles

Which engine, gas or diesel? The gassers haven't been know for that problem. GM diesels haven't either but they are pretty fresh to market (first year for SUV's second for pickups). Guessing you aren't going to see many others in a similar situation. From a what went wrong perspective. Water...

2021 Tahoe RST help with tire size please!!!

George, please let us know what tire you end up going with and how well they fit. Ordered a Denali for the wife and she'll be getting new tires when it arrives, BF AT Ko2's are the plan, just need to decide on size.

Did GM stop taking orders for 2021 Yukons?

Ordered a 2021 denali yesterday, order accepted by gm; had to skip trailer brake controller and floor mats otherwise the order wouldn't go.

Best place to buy OEM wheels after purchase?

My local dealer has multiple sets of new take offs spanning the 20's and the 22's for less then the cost of the original option. I'd recommend you reach out to the dealerships which do in house customizations.
