cold idle mines goes a little bit over 40...hot idle I would say in the 30s..
I have noticed the longer I go without changing the oil the lower the oil pressure gets as I drive. But soon as I change the oil and filter the oil pressure gets better... I usually go by the oil percentage to change...
The easy repairs I will admit ill go cheap but anything crucial i'll use name brand. I am running updated ds valve cover, valve cover gaskets from Amazon they seem to be holding up. I usually tell myself the amazon parts are just trials until I can cough up the money but they usually work out...
My 2008 tahoe has been giving me some oil pressure issues where the gauge would dip to 0 psi and give the stop engine message but the engine is quiet as can be. Figured i’d replace the oil pressure sensor filter. Couldn’t find one locally so I opted for a replacement sensor and screen from...
You can usually unbolt the front diff mount bolts/ do not completely remove them allow the diff to hang and remove the rack and pinion mount bolts and cv axle hub bolts and that will give you enough room to remove the old pan.
Be mindful it is easy to accidentally crossthread one of the oil pan...
I did not stick a screwdriver thru the case of the filter. The filters case started to twist just like a coke can..once that happens you have no choice but to remove the case unless you want to damage your oil pan
I always use a thin coat of oil on the seal and I always have an issue removing the oil filter. I was able to finally get it off. Once the hosuing of the filter was destroyed I used a short and sturdy screwdriver and stuck it in the filter holes and that gave me enough leverage to remove it...

The GM O2 sensor arrived last week but I havnt installed it yet. My engine light has been off for almost 2 weeks still running the Duralast. Ended up installing a Duralast coil because I started getting a misfire code on cylinder 6.
Since replacing the o2 sensor my truck likes to rev and...

my tahoe is actually holding oil now. no more adding few quarts every couple of weeks.
after replacing rms2x , oil barbell , front timing cover , pickup tube o ring...
I went ahead and ordered a GM upstream o2 sensor from RA to see if that will help.
Searching thru the forum I did find a tsb that effects 2008. If it is a PCM issue anyway for a do-it yourself person to fix it?

yes the temp gauge read 210...when I let it idle it was after a 5-8 minute drive...anyway to tell if its in closed loop?
if the o2 bank 2 sensor 1 seems to be reading incorrectly I can try DENSO 2344668 from RA?
The upstream oxygen sensor brand was a duralast. This was the only one I could find locally. After replacing it the MIL comes on after 2-3 days after resetting the ecu.
Been looking at rockauto to see if I should order another?
