II rebuilt/overhauled my front diff and regeared to 5.13’s in just over 2.5 hours and that’s completely reinstalled with fluids filled.
My carrier bearing races were toast!
So the final verdict is in... time of death 394,009 miles. My mother in-law’s 2001 Tahoe 5.3 LS has made its final voyage. May she Rest In Peace. It will not be in vain as her 862 heads will replace my 04’s 706 heads after some tlc.

Have you tried opening any of the other doors to see if they will trigger the lights to come on? Does your door ajar alarm still yell at you when you have the driver door open and put it into gear? Or does the radio turn off when you turn the ignition off and open the driver door?
What?! Take a multimeter, set it to volts, place one lead to terminal D of the wiper motor module and take the other lead and put it to a good ground. Switch through the different wiper speeds and notate your voltage readings. Make positive that you’re getting power to terminal D of the wiper...
A bad crank sensor wouldn’t kill the pump. A bad ckp sensor kill injectors and spark to the engine.
Did you perform Ckp variation relearn procedure after playing with that sensor?
