    i cant imagine anyone making one that has a nut on the inside that isnt welded to the cover. just doesnt make sense. why im thinking it broke off. or could have been someone elses fix to a stripped plug then filled through the vent.

    i suppose its possible the weld broke on the bung. In either case, you have to pull your cover. and likely get a replacement. I wouldnt even think of driving if something dropped in there.

    thats not an onstar speaker above your head. there are a few posts on the forum, its an hvac sensor. you can take it out and clean it with compressed air, or replace it.

    hd hood- question

    after a few weeks of other projects. i finally got around to tinkering with it. I put a few spacer washers on the passenger side, lowered the latch and it lines up nice. I am happy with the fit. next is to have it painted. but that can wait until i slap in the lowering springs i painted myself.

    im sure everyone has their own way, but for me it was easiest to take the retainer pins out, adjust and put them back. repeat until correctly aimed. I could never seem to get them to move much while in place.

    clips do not keep them on until they are in the yoke. google an exploded view and you will see what i mean.

    the clips will keep the cap in place. you need them. remove them to push the cap into the yoke. once seated, reinstall the clips. If it only had the 2, those are the 2 that go into the driveshaft yoke, the other 2 will be held in by the straps on the axel yoke.

    i like the idea, but in reality, i dont know what the hinges can actually take load wise. Ive messed with mine a ton, and still have to slam the drivers side to shut all the way. I would be really worried about screwing up the alignment with weight.

    i think your making a good choice. I think all of us value nostalgia. On another note though, as cool as it would be to roll around in something that slammed. I doubt it it would make sense as your DD. The truck you have is probably allot more useful in all situations.

    I have some 2 part clear epoxy left over from doing some countertops. I was considering a test application over some of the commonly faded black plastics. But i am at a loss for what i could use to revive the black, that would not be an issue for bonding. Any ideas?

    i thought about this after seeing it yesterday. Years ago, any time i would tow with a dolly, i would pull the driveshaft.
