so i figured out how to wire everything up. my question now is, is it better to use 0ga or 4ga wire for my power wire? again i'm running rockford fosgate p450.4 putting out 106W rms @ 4ohm per channel and rockford fosgate p350.1 that puts out 251W rms @ 4ohm (bridged).
will 0ga be overkill? or...
it is ipod ready but not satellite ready. there is no aux input in the front but i'm not sure if there is one in the back. the ipod cable will be sold with it and also the case for the face plate.
here's some pics (sorry for the iphone quality)
i'm selling my Alpine CDE-9852 head unit for $75 plus shipping. It is in great condition and nothing is wrong with it. the reason i'm selling is because it only has one set of RCA outputs and i'm upgrading my amps and need more outputs. this is the only current pic i have of it but i will post...
so i now have 2 remote bass controllers for both of my amps. i was thinking of putting them inside the center console where the removable coin holder goes. i'm just not sure exactly how to get the wires in there. my plan is to route the wires under the driver seat to the center console but i'm...
i've got a rockford fosgate p450.4 4 channel amp for the 6 speakers and a rockford fosgate p350.1 mono amp for my subs.
i'm just a little confused..... would you be able to post a diagram of your set up or the setup i should go with? (cheap paint pics are fine w/ me lol)
so i just run the wires from both rear speakers to the rear output on the amp??
what about the rca's? and whats the best way to route the speaker wire from the speakers?
i have a set of alpine type s 6.5" component speakers and a set of alpine type s 6.5" coaxial speakers i'm putting in my tahoe. i also want to wire in the rear roof speakers. since i have a alpine ida-x303 h.u. that only puts out 4 channels and have a rockford fosgate p450.4 4 channel amp i was...
hmm ya our summers can get pretty hot and humid up here so might come across the problem of it sliding down. thanks for the info i'll check into it and see
thanks for the explanation! i didnt know this about dynamat, i thought it was just a form of sound deadening. didnt think it worked the way it did.
the carpet padding wont really work for that purpose then since it mainly absorbs sound.
so my next question will be whats the best "bang for...
wow thats pretty good.
i guess my question is, is it totally pointless to do carpet padding? will it do pretty much no deadening? or will it actually do some deadening to a degree?
so i have some left over carpet padding from redoing my interior and was thinking about using it instead of buying dynamat for on the doors around the speakers. whats the difference and would it really matter that much if i used carpet padding?
has only one tapped into the factory amp? i'm looking to run wires from the factory amp to my amp powering the speakers. trying to run the rear door speakers and rear roof speakers into one since its just a 4 channel amp. anyone done something like this before?
also check the 3rd brake light. i'm currently putting everything back together but i had water leaking from the 3rd brake light and the top weather stripping wasnt sealing all the way. it soaked all the way up to the front and i had to rip out all the insulation. best thing to do is just rip out...
the 3rd brake light comes off easy its just 2 screws and adhesive to the roof. there are 2 mounting holes (one of which that carries the wires thru) and 2 holes for the screws.
Was wondering where's the best area to put a 4 channel amp that will be powering the speakers. I was thinking of under the front passanger seat so it would be hidden and out of the way. I'm just not fully sure of how to run the wires hidden to it. I was also considering under the rear bench seat...
i was looking for the factory amp and think i found it but i'm not sure. is it the silver box under the driver seat under the carpeting?
i currently have the carpeting ripped up due to a water leak and saw the silver box under the carpet. in the future i plan on wiring in the rear roof...
dude check out Alpine. def worth it. they have a cable that hooks up to your ipod and you can control it right on the head unit. Alpine is great quality too for a reasonable price (for what you get in quality)
