    ^WIN! It *was* the hub after all. Thing shook around like crazy. Changed the hub last night and it runs like new again! Annoyed that my mechanic misdiagnosed the issue... but more annoyed that I could have done 15 minutes of research and saved myself a bunch of money. Lesson learned --...

    Agreed. Hard to know. The noise is constant... no relation to turning. It's there under throttle or just when rolling. It's surprisingly loud... and I can even feel it in the floor.... which makes me wonder if those little CV joints can make that much noise! LOL! Am hoping to get over...

    Thanks Tracy. Is there a way to easily know if I have the 4l60e or the 4l80e?? It's an '03 Denali XL (6.0L). I'm guessing it would be stamped somewhere on it, but I have not crawled under to check yet.

    Hey! I have a 2003 Yukon XL Denali with 118k. 2 years ago (at ~85k), I had the transmission rebuilt. Now it is having issues again. In both first and second gear, the RPM's will rev up all the way to redline (and not shift) until you let up on the gas... only then will it shift to the next...
