    Issues with 2nd gear

Sounds much like the 60e in my Silverado. Would take 2nd with a manual selection and 4th was okay. But the 2-4 band was shot. Just enough grip that the extra apply for 4th would hold while cruising.

Oh it also does wicked doughnuts on dry pavement if you jump on it while turning. With the traction bars it hooks pretty good straight line

    My Hotrod Project

No he drives it a couple times a month. He e would drive it more, but my uncle installed a spool for a cheap posi and it is a pain to drive around town. And the 3.73 without overdrive is like 3000 roms at 60.

    My Hotrod Project

Man I LOVE G bodies. I had an 83 Cutlass Calais 2 tone blue with a 307 Oldsmobile. One of my good friends had a T-Type in high school. Bought it at a repo auction but being a repo it was beat. And 2 years ago he had an 87 National but traded it for a a 70 GTO.

    My Hotrod Project

I will have to find the book, the old lady documented every fill up and servicefrom new to like the early 90s. It had less than 50k ( if i remember correctly)on it when my uncle bought it. But when we swapped it to a 3.73 he never changed the speedo gear so 55 read like 75 or 80. So it racked...

    My Hotrod Project

It is going to stay in the family. Too clean to let out of my sight. Hell my daughter has driven it more than I have. Was her first car. I just adjusted the governor to shift early and bread tied the secondaries so they wouldn't open. About a year ago I had some emergency medical bills, so my...

    My Hotrod Project

It got brought up in Tonys build thread, so I figured I should start my own. That way I don't pirate his thread. So back story, my uncle likes to buy cars he is going to "do something cool with". Then after the project is almost done he loses interest. Or, if the outcome does not look like it...

    Started a new job

Well it balances out in the end so even with the pay raise there is no extra actually a little less. I work 40 hours a week now. ( m-f) 0530 to 1400 Previously i was working 60 to 70 hours a week. ( m-th 0400 to 1600 and fri sat 0400 to 1330) So, in the end im really about 500 to 700 less a...

    Tonyrodz's Tahoe Build Thread

Oh it is a sleeper too. But next time it needs tires im going to have to upgrade the wheels to some steel lowend factory 15s. The correct size 14s are more expensive than im willing to pay. Hell they ran me more than the tires for my Tahoe.

mines a 76. "Disco Nova". As the nova guys call them. 36ish thousand miles when i got it in 2014. Probably should make a thread on it sometime. Originally a 6 cylinder car and i have the 6 cylinder and original transmission in storage. The original rearend died a grisly death with the v8 swap.

    Started a new job

Mostly Capital Projects that everyone ( including the burnout addicts) in the company could see would not pan out for the future. One was a $300k crane system that was actually slower than our manual system. So by the time the molten metal got from the furnace to the pouring deck it was too...

    Tonyrodz's Tahoe Build Thread

Yeah know how that goes. Still have the heads, intake, headers, and all the accessories for the 5.3 swap for my Nova.... don't have a 5.3 to put them on though. But th 350 runs fine and has less than 10,000 miled on it. That is my justification for slacking lol.

    Started a new job

Well, after 15 years of industrial maintenance at the aluminum foundry I have moved on to a new job. Not that the old place was bad, I just felt that management had made a few decisions i couldn't look passed. So now i rebuild fuel pumps and injectors for a big diesel manufacturer. Better pay...

    Clutch Fan Question

I dont really have any suggestions, just a bit of experience. I replaced the one on my old ford and have the same issue. I think there were so many failures the other way (not engaging enough) in the past. So they tightened up the coupling as to avoid not cooling enough. I dont know if yours...
