    Limited door badges

Do you currently have the Emblems installed on your truck? You should be able to put a heat gun on warm, and pull the original emblems off while softening up the adhesive backing. Once the truck is painted, re-apply the emblems with thin 3M adhesive trim tape?

Help! 1999 Chevy Tahoe no start issue!

The check gauges and battery light will be on, until the engine is running and charging the battery. The service engine soon is probably related to your P0340 code that has latched.

Help! 1999 Chevy Tahoe no start issue!

I would hope that Goodyear would have verified that your Top Dead Center Mark, and your Rotor in your distributor were properly aligned, and that your plug wires were all correct before doing the “Spark Test”. I am baffled why they would not replace the Cam Position Sensor to clear your P0340...

1999 Yukon Valve cover removal help

You have enough loose, to get the clearance you need. When I did my lower intake, I had a helper pull with some force on the A/C bracket, which will give you the clearance you need. I didn’t pull my P/S pulley off. Yard on it!

Help! 1999 Chevy Tahoe no start issue!

I’m sorry you are having such a hard time with this. You said you had the spark plugs and wires replaced. This is a shot in the dark, but…. See if the plug wire for #5 and #7 cylinder are plugged onto the wrong spark plug. It is “Very” easy to install these wrong. There should be numbers at the...

I want to put in some rear speakers (or subs) in my '97 Tahoe 2-door

I have a 8” powered sub bass-tube, which fits perfectly between the spare tire and the rear seat. The best thing is that you can still fold the rear seats forward at a moments notice, and swing the sub out of the way, if you want to put some lumber in the cargo area. I upgraded my headliner...

Help! 1999 Chevy Tahoe no start issue!

Do you recall if the check engine code was a P1345 “Crankshaft Position-Camshaft Position Correlation”. ? If that is the case, then mostly likely your distributor needs to be adjusted to + or -2 degrees cam retard offset above 1000rpm. I had this issue when I replaced my distributor during my...

    Dave's 1995 Tahoe LS 4X4 2dr

I would be interested to hear if your fender flare lays perfectly flush, after reinstallation. I removed and reinstalled all 4 of mine after a “Rustoration” and some areas of the flares are pulling away from the body. I was considering 3M trim tape, but some of the gaps are so small, now I am...

what are my front seat options

The seat back on my drivers side is leaning hard right and aft. The only replacement I can find, is for seat covers. I guess the option would be to have an auto upholstery shop remove the existing covers, and inspect and repair the frames. When I had money I was looking into these...

Adding PAG Oil to receiver drier

A/C Delco compressors come pre-filled with the specified 8oz of PAG required for the system. Once you recharge the system and run it, the oil will lubricate and make its way through the system in its required quantity. Double check the document/tags/label that came with the compressor for...

Where is this power steering leak on my 97 Tahoe 5.7L coming from? (Video)

    Most commonly it’s the pressure line/hose. I’ve replaced 2 on my 97.

    Complete Makeover

I totally know where you are coming from. I just removed all the rust on my 97 GT. I am the original owner, so it is sentimental. You just can’t go into a dealer and buy a new OBS. I can’t really give you a dollar figure for the rust, because I’m up here in Canada, and our money is worthless...

    Cracked dash

I’m in the same boat. My dash cracked from the upper passenger mounting screw hole, when the truck was new. I asked about replacing the entire dash under warranty. I let the service advisor convince me that replacing the factory installed dash was not a good idea. It would squeak, it would...

    hard shift 1st to 2nd 1996 tahoe

Found this on another site on 4L60E: A hard shift indicates that either the line pressure is too high or there is a problem in the 1-2 accumulator. Was a shift kit installed? Line pressure that is too high is often caused by a sensor problem (MAF, TPS or MAP). The proper way to diagnose this...
