Any aluminum radiators that don't crack annually?

Those welds look kinda crappy. Mine looked pretty good and core was double thick full tank width.

Any aluminum radiators that don't crack annually?

Mine was from Alloyworks bought on Amazon for $215. If there is any hot weather test, Phoenix or Vegas is the place to test it.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Due to my age limited lack of hearing high frequencies (pad squealers) , I let a front pad start touching the rotor. New Hawk pads and Cryo treated R1 Concepts slotted rotors, new Hawk pads on rears, bled entire system with Motul 600 (since I dont race bikes anymore)........THEN I notieced a...

Any aluminum radiators that don't crack annually?

Last feb 2022 I installed an Alloyworks radiator from Amazon. All aluminum with 3 rows….the core is the same thickness as the tanks. Survived one Phoenix summer so far and me driving Like ahole. And the price was less than half of OEM. Right now I think they are $215

Just an fyi, bad ujoints don’t need to have play that you can feel while installed, but when you take them off you can find they bind like dried out or worn or have a “spot” with play when you rotate The caps.

    Radiator for Tahoe with K5L

They seem to like to crack on the driver side near the upper hose. Mine is K5L and after seeing the price I just went with all aluminum. So far works great in 115 degrees. Will be able to test in mountain driving Saturday, will check how it handles full throttle up the mountains to Prescott.

    Useless Information

I had a lean idle issue on my C5 vette for years and it drove me nuts, and yes it was adding fuel trim up to +25 then CEL if idling a lot. Turns out one day I had my ex gf watching the O2's graph going up and down and I busted out the propane torch (NOT lit) and sprayed. Second I got near the...

Thats why you put the stands under the axles. Obviously you dont go nuts here and punch it and jump up and down while turning the wheel......common sense has to be applied. Like a loaded gun, just dont point it at anything while performing.

Put it on jackstands, secure it and have someone go through the gears gently rasing the speed. You can then look at the driveline from underneath and look for anything out of round/vibrating/shaking, etc.

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

There is more to testing an alternator than just volts and amps. They test to make sure the rectifiers are not bad, or you will have AC ripple which can cause havoc with data transferred between canbus modules.

    Odd Transmission issue.

My brothers 2012 tahoe is doing the same thing, even while I was in it with the Tech 2 . I couldnt find anything except solenoid 1 had a line that was switching between not ready or not reporting or something like that. From a stop you give it throttle and it revs a few hundred rpms then pops...

    Right bank dead

Sounds simple. Cold engine in open loop does not use the O2 sensors yet...as soon as it warms up enough it switches to closed loop and relies on the O2 sensors for fueling and it sounds like yours is dead or the wiring is bad on that bank.

What happens to the rear AC temp when this happens? Does it also go warm or does it remain cold?

The financial benefits of maintaining our own cars

A tip I learned from the Powerstroke.org site when trying to remove the mechanical cooling fan clutch huge spinning nut from the water pump on my 7.3…….hit the nut corner with an air chisel, works in 1 second.

Every so often 1st gear slips

My brothers 12 is doing the exact same thing. Started with door locks on and off, electrical flickering on and off, and fixed with positive battery fuse replacement and cleaning corroded positive at the fuse box. That is fixed ,he still however still has the intermittent start from a light, revs...

How many miles did your front brakes go before changing? Mine went 250K

I bought mine in 2018-19 with 86K and dealer had just installed new pads and front rotors. ONE week later they were warped. Upgraded to Geomet Carbon rotors that I had Cryo treated with police silicone calipers and after 30K with Hawk pads and driving it like those police videos on Youtube...
