Hey everyone,

I recently had an issue with my engine lifters going bad on my 2022 Chevy Suburban LT with the 5.3L engine. I’m planning to rebuild it and I’m trying to make sure I replace everything properly while I’m in there.

I’m mainly looking for guidance on all the OEM parts I should replace during the rebuild (lifters, camshaft, gaskets, bolts, guides, etc.), along with correct OEM part numbers if possible.

If anyone has experience with this engine or has done a similar rebuild, I’d really appreciate any help or a full parts list so I can make sure I’m not missing anything.

Thanks in advance!

Can you share what mileage this engine has and if the DFM system was operated regularly?

This has all you need for a delete:

My truck is a 2018 and I did a ton of “since the motor is out” parts swapping since it had 115k miles. Your truck is relatively new so likely wouldn’t need to do the same.

But here’s the list of what I had done in addition to the delete, basically for the price of the part since I didn’t have to pay to get to any of it:
  • Timing chain and tensioner
  • Oil pump
  • All belts and cooling hoses
  • Belt drive tensioner
  • Water pump
  • Oil pump control valve solenoid wire
  • Circle D triple-disk converter, OEM stall
  • Clean intake manifold, ports and intake valve

You need to be able to tune it or have someone tune it. The 2022 and older pick up is Global A while the 2021 and up is Global B. Harder to get a tune done. Make sure before you start.
