What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Sold it. Well, not today, rather about a month ago. The plan was to buy a 2017 PPV Tahoe, but they're priced stupidly high. I could pick up an LS with the same miles and price, and at least have some comfort options. In the end I decided a truck would better suit my needs and bought a crew...

Why do people convert TO a PPV?

I've owned a couple retired police Caprices and currently own a 2011 Caprice PPV (9C3). I think Tahoes get the same upgrades in heat management and suspension along with the gutting of amenities. Getting older, I kinda like the amenities and it's why I'm on the fence. Police units are usually...

Why do people convert TO a PPV?

Thanks for the reply. I am hot and cold on going the PPV route. The price I'm finding for PPVs aren't much lower than I can pic up an LS for. An LS wouldn't have as far to go on adding items to make is a "normal" Tahoe.

Why do people convert TO a PPV?

Is a newer radio plug and play?

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I tried that... kinda. I tried using the truck frame while it was on stands. The jack was at a bit of an angle and I wasn't comfortable with how much the tire was getting deformed. Too bad there's not a Harbor Freight (aka reasonably priced) bead breaker. I'll try your method out if I need to...

Good looking truck. Sadly mine is showing its age.

    New TPMS Sensors?

As far as I can tell, my other 3 are original from '04. I expect the others to die soon.

    New TPMS Sensors?

Since there's mixed info out there, I can confirm that on my 2004, the sensors linked above will be seen by the system during the learn process without anything else be done. In my case, the only hard part was breaking the bead to install the new one.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Not necessarily today, but this last week I've managed to get my Yukon to start and run without bitching about anything. TPMS fault has been on for the last few months and oil life is at 0%. I have a place nearby that has an ongoing deal that makes changing your own oil just stupid. The key is...

    How to test rear brakes?

My Motive unit arrives this week. I won’t be able to mess with it until the weekend. I’ll put some PB blaster on the MC connections every day in hopes they will back out. I’ll see if air comes out. One guy wrote the ABS cycles at startup as a system check. If true, I’ll be able to get further...

    How to test rear brakes?

I’m just saying the old rules don’t always apply. I was curious about my other thought on the right front and I found this image of a tubing kit. Granted, the lines from the differential to the calipers aren’t shown, but I don't think they make up for the extra length that front line has to go...

    How to test rear brakes?

So, you’re saying that the direct distance between the MC and the caliper is the only factor in the bleeding order, and actual tubing length has nothing to do with it? I hope not.

    How to test rear brakes?

I respectfully disagree when it comes to the rear lines. I know, I just put them in. Both go from the Manifold under the driver seat, run along the left frame, turn to the center of the truck, transition into two separate hoses, over the diff, then go back to solid lines on the rear axle, at...

    How to test rear brakes?

Scotty, I’m pretty sure the master never went dry. I’m thinking this over. Would the bleeding be acting this way if it had? Fless, The order doesn’t matter since there are two separate lines going to the back. Both are pretty much the same length. Good point about not pushing the petal all the...
