Idles at normal temp, but when I drive off it gets hot

2006 GMC Yukon denali XL, LQ4 6.0 Weird little issue I’m having that’s happened three times now in the past two weeks. It idles perfectly fine, specifically between 204.4-206.8 degrees, no matter how long I idle it. The issue I have is that the moment I drive off after idling it gets hot. The...

    Weird Issue Hard To Explain

Sorry for the late reply, haven’t been feeling well. But I assume so, everything drive train related is stock for now atleast. Everything on it now has been there since the problem started. And that’s what I was thinking too, the TPS.

    Weird Issue Hard To Explain

Sorry for the late reply man, I haven’t been feeling well so I haven’t been on. I took it to my mechanic who’s worked on it for over a year now and when he did the fluid change he said everything looked fine, no specs in the fluid/pan, it was dirty but because it had been a while since I had it...

    Weird Issue Hard To Explain

The whine in the second video is my steering gear dying lol. Before this started, it would shift into second perfectly without the unnecessary high rpms and the about to explode feeling. Now, no matter how I’m pushing on the pedal (hard or soft) it does this. Also, there’s no codes and no CEL...

    Weird Issue Hard To Explain

Hey guys! For starters I have an 06 Yukon denali XL, 6.0, 223k miles! i posted about this back in December, and it’s hard to explain, but basically when driving after a dead stop (red light or something) when going into second it just loves to hold onto first for some reason. Other than that it...

Does the winter/cold weather delay shift points?

Could it be as simple as a clogged tranny filter? And maybe a complete tranny fluid flush? also thanks for the help man!

Does the winter/cold weather delay shift points?

I’ve tried to let it warm up while idling, and it gets to about operating temperature (about 10-20 degrees below it) and that doesn’t help either. So I’m starting to think it’s the cold weather less and less, unless it needs to be exactly at operating temp. I recently read a thread on here...

Does the winter/cold weather delay shift points?

well I’m in New York now and last week we got hit with a snow storm, so temperatures have been on the lower end. Today’s the highest with 55, but it’s been in the 20-30s. Ive noticed the shifts have gotten better but it’s still doing it. The shifts themselves aren’t rough, and my tuner...

Does the winter/cold weather delay shift points?

its about to hit 225k! Before the winter storm it was fine, so I think it is the cold but I have no idea. I had it checked by a local GMC dealership and they said it was good for its age and that since I stopped driving immediately after I noticed something was wrong (the fluid loss) there...

Does the winter/cold weather delay shift points?

thanks man! ill look at my RPO codes, I didn’t know the specific one for the trans! The last time I had the fluid completely serviced was when all the fluid was lost on the palisades a couple months ago. Maybe like 3 or 4 months, but I’ll definitely check again tomorrow! thanks for the help man!

Does the winter/cold weather delay shift points?

Hey guys, I got an 06 Denali Xl 6.0 and I’m pretty sure a 4L60e, I’ve read that it might be a 65 though I’m doubt it. my question is, and I don’t wanna sound dumb, but it’s my first winter outside of California so this is all new to me. Does the winter/ cold or whatever delay shift points? I...

    Headliner measurements?

thanks Matthew! you really know the ins and outs of this haha! Is the sunroof visor hard to do, or any different because it goes back and forth? Also I was going to do a flat black Instead of the OEM tan, I personally think it would look better, so hopefully it turns out nice! But anyways thanks...

    Headliner measurements?

For starters I have a 2006 GMC Yukon denali xl. I’m looking to replace the headliner with custom fabric and fiber optic lights to create a star effect. Plus the fabric is starting to sag and has come off slightly on some of the edges. my question is; does anyone know the measurements of the...
